Rhino People – Stitches

Hi everyone,

I’ve had my stitches out today from having open septo rhino last Monday. The nurse just took the blue ones out at the base of my nostrils and said that the clear ones in my nose are dissolvable and she just leaves them be. Is this the case? I’ve seen other girls say that they had some stitches from inside their nostrils taking out? It’s the clear ones that are irritating me the most as some are protruding from my nose and I knock them slightly when wiping around the outside.

How long do they take to dissolve? She said they just go eventually and also that she doesn’t clean the inside of my nostrils once my cast is off? My left nostril in particular is pretty gunky and bloody and I don’t fancy going back to work in a week’s time with it still looking so messy!x

it wont be that messy in a weeks time it sounds gross but all that extra gunk and stuff does just fall out plus in a weeks time you can clean it a tiny bit as long as your not sticking anything up there so far that it can cause any damage, the dissolvable ones can be so annoying some of mine didn’t come out till 5months post op like it was stuck, I did actually pull some out as they were annoying me just tease it with a cotton bud with warm water itl come out just don’t do that yet though if your early days, I done this 1 month post op x
