I’m new here and I have my consultation with Mr G this Wednesday in Birmingham. I’m really nervous, I was declined for a rhinoplasty with a surgeon from The Hospital Group last year, he was actually very intimidating and didn’t seem to even listen to my complaints about my nose or even look at it much, he was sat behind his desk for the whole 5 minutes of the ‘consultation’ and I’m pretty sure you can’t get a good idea of surgical requirements whilst sitting over a metre away from someone. The experience was actually really upsetting for me, I’ve wanted my nose fixed since I broke it when I was 8 and it took a lot for me to get the confidence to make the appointment in the first place. I’m really worried this is going to be a similar experience, I broke my nose when I was 8 and rammed the septum into my left nostril, when I was 16 I had a septoplasty to move the septum back into the centre of my nose because I had breathing difficulties, however due to the break it was really misshapen and the appearance of my nose didn’t change. My nose is very flat and wide, and I’m guessing in order to achieve a nose that projects out and turns up at the end I will need a nose augmentation using some cartilage from my ear. Essentially it’s not going to be a simple procedure if it can be done at all.
I would love to hear other peoples’ experiences with Mr G, particularly involving rhinoplastys or procedures that have been more complicated due to your specific needs. And would love to see some before and afters !
