    Hi,

Dr G is really against taking arnica pre op – he said it thins the blood which is the opposite to what he needs. He did say to me that he doesn’t really think they do anything post op but I started taking them day one post op and I’m day eight now with hardly any bruising left.

I didn’t take much with me as I got changed pretty much straight away but the most important thing is to take something that zips/buttons up to put on for leaving – I just went in a track suit. Take some Vaseline as well as your lips will get so dry almost instantly and I took slippers to walk to theatre in. Also take some bits and pieces to keep you entertained. Good luck! X

Thanks for the advise, I definitely won’t take them then. Did you get a v pillow I’m so nervous about rolling over in my sleep once I get it done.

How much time did you take off work.

Sorry for all the questions I’m slightly nervous

Definitely try and get a v pillow it stops you from rolling about in your sleep and it’s so comfy! I still use mine! X

    Yeah I got a v pillow from Argos for £10 – it’s so comfortable!

I’m back at work on Monday, exactly two weeks after my op. with Dr G you need to keep the cast on for 12-14days. It hasn’t really bothered me going out and about to do little things but I certainly wouldn’t go to work! Can’t wait to get this cast off now though! X

i dont think i will be too bothered going out a bit maybe to friends ect not sure about anything major. ive booked two weeks off work too, i hope the bruising goes down before i go back. i suppose you still have to be careful you dont knock it or anything.
