Im 3 weeks and 2 days po and I have noticed rippling on the underneath of my boobs. Its not visible and can only feel it when I lean forward. However, I had them under the muscle and soft touch implants so im really shocked and quite pissed off at this. When I sat and thought about it, mr mounir kept changing his mind about the placement of the implant. He said on the op day he was going to go for unders but after the op he didn’t tell me anything and im scared incase they have been put over the muscle. They are quite close together and round which you dont really get with unders and also I had next to no pain in the recovery period. Until the nurse gets back to me is there any way I can find out whether the are under or over??????
babe i had unders, they are close together and round & i didnt have any pain. so it doesnt mean you had overs. Maybe phone the hospital if your worried? x
I had over the muscle and they aren’t round, just because they’re round doesn’t mean they’re overs.
End of the day, If you were quite small to begin with there is going to be a chance of rippling, I’m fortunate that I’ve gone from an A to a DD with overs and haven’t had any rippling, maybe try ringing to speak to a nurse hun? They may be able to give you some info or put your mind at rest at the placement of the implant?xxx
Unders are only placed under the muscle at the top the portion of the breast the bottom part/lower pole sits over the muscle. This is just the placement of unders and it’s how it goes, no Drs so full true unders anymore as it gives a poor result and is very invasive.
If you have little tissue and/or thin skin ripples are still possible, there’s nothing that can be done to prevent it, it’s just your anatomy. Also if you use ROUND implants, yes you can get ROUND breasts regardless of placement, in some women unders can create a slopping pole but again, it’s down to your anatomy, I’m not sure why you’re under the impression unders don’t sit close and are shapped differently? How close they sit is down to the pocket, your muscle plays no part. All in all most of us can expect to have ripples of some degree, if they are only felt when you lean forward and can;t be seen you’re pretty lucky in the grand scheme of things.
Good luck x
im same as lorna, i had unders and they are rounding slowly and id say a bit of a gap but getting closer also and was pain free
hope you get the answer you want though XX
Hey Hun I had overs with very little breast tissue although my surgeon was also undecided on surgery day wat he was going to do when I went for my nurses app I asked if I had unders or unders in my notes but there had been no added notes since my surgeons consultation !!im only 9 days po and haven’t had any problems with rippling yet and fingers crossed I don’t !! Also has anyone been given any paperwork regarding aftercare and wat it covers etc ? I haven’t been given anything but my implant booklet and to me we should have been given all information regarding op placement and after care terms and conditions ?! Xxx
I talked to my PC who looked at my notes and told me I had unders. Im really gutted now that even with unders and the soft touch theyve rippled, I thought with this choice I wouldnt have anything to worry about. I hope they get better in time xxx
Hey Honey,
Are you not covered for rippling seeing as you paid extra for the Soft Touch?
Im not sure how it works, But maybe as you continue to make changes it might even itself out ..
I dont know too much about it babes but hope you get it sorted xx
Hey, rippling is one of a few common risks that can happen after breast augmentation wether overs or unders it happens, with time also at one point everyone gets abit of rippling to how much extent depends on every individual with how thin their skin is, they say a certain percentage like maybe 20% more less risk rippling having them under the muscle as having the extra coverage this is usually just the upper pole and not bottom.. If you can feel it then it should subside once everything settled bit if it really bothers you then maybe see your surgeon see what he or she suggests xx
