Hi hun, I had drains with my first BA. They were a little uncomfortable when they were being taken out but that was about it. Don’t worry, also remember that you will still have anaesthetic in your system so you won’t feel it much xxx

What surgeon you going with Hun? Some surgeons don’t use the drains, I had Dr Singh and I didn’t have them 🙂 x

Not every body gets drains they only use them if the swelling is bad my 1st op with uplift n implants and my 2nd op no drains wear used but my 3 rd op I woke up with one drain which was not really need as my right bust is always huge after a op but my new surgeon did think this was needed at the time but was in for a couple of hours xx

When i had my drains taken out it didn’t hurt one bit. My boobs were still numb from the anaesthetic and i hardly felt a thing. It’s over with in a few seconds anyways, nothing to get worked up about!

I agree with the girls above. Had my procedure yesterday and the two things I was worried about were the drains and pain management afterwards. I have to say that when the moment came, I didn’t even feel the first one being removed. The second took a little longer – maybe 30 seconds more! – and the worst I can describe it as was a little sore. But to put it into perspective, I’ve had more painful blisters with new shoes! With regard to pain management afterwards, again I have been shocked but appreciate I may be lucky. I have no pain at all so have not yet taken any of the painkillers prescribed. I have a little soreness around my incisions/band but it’s entirely manageable. So i just wanted to say that the forum is great to hear the whole range of experiences, and to prepare you for the worst, but there are also good experiences. Just remember everyone is different, with different procedures and pain thresholds, so it may be a totally fine experience- so don’t worry yourself unnecessarily. Just one tip on the drains, the nurse told me to take a deep breath when she removed them, so maybe that helps a little too. Good luck!
