Should keep the dressings on until the nurse says otherwise, the lumps you can feel are probably just the knots in the stitches xx

Sorry that seemed like a blunt message! Don’t worry too much they will take time to settle and fade, mine feel very lumpy aswell, I’m almost two weeks, its still early days though xx

I don’t have any pictures of mine but I saw my nurse 4wk po and she mentioned mine are a bit lumpy but after 6 weeks I could massage them and the lumpy would go xx

At my 2 week check my nurse told me to massage them quite firmly it’s just the internal stitches it will help break them down quicker x

Mine were really raised and lumpy Jessica…..
My surgeon told me to put micropore tape on them, and seriously it worked wonders.
They flattened out after a couple of weeks, it was like magic tape.
Maybe ask your nurse first at your check up though.
Mine was due to the pulling of the skin and the plaster being to tight over it in the first week.
    Hope this helps 🙂 x

Mine were awful for quite a few weeks after op. Lumpy and all zigzaggy.. and creases from my own skin. I was so worried. They are just fine lines now and I’m 2m post op. I’d say they have only just started to not feel as lumpy though. Massaging the scar helps x

This is my left side. Even my skin tag/birth mark was very red for some reason back to normal now! X

@Cat, they look amazing! Did you use creams, massages etc to improve the appearance or did you just let it heal? I’m 2wpo and mine looks horrible. Thanks x

@boobie101 thank you. No not until 6 weeks post op and they had already healed quite well. Since then I use a silicone is to gel but to be honest I forget to put it on most days! I’m massaging them too but just a little. I was so worried when I first saw them, I didn’t thinknif would get a straight line at all. On the last photo there is a bit at the end where my disolvable stitches stuck out which caused more scaring, not sure why it didn’t do that on the other side.
Still fingers crossed they fade now. They have changed a lot this last week and hard feel the scar at all now. I’m 9 weeks post op today 🙂 x
