Seroma 10wpo help please

Hi girls,
I haven’t been on here for a while as I have been so down I couldn’t face seeing everyone’s perfect boobs, I know that probably sounds awful but o just couldn’t face it!
Since 4wpo I’ve had a leaking right breast! I have been back twice to have a small pin prick hole stitched up and to no avail! It’s still leaking 10wpo!! I’ve took so much time off work already back and forward to Preston and Newcastle! I only just started a new job and they are not happy with the amount of time I’ve had to take off! I am fed up, disheartened and to be honest wish I had never had this done! Everywhere I have read and researched suggests that the implant should be removed and replaced!! I now have a massive infection and I am just plain fed up! Why was my implant not replaced at the beginning when I first had signs of a seroma????
I have contacted the clinic and heard nothing from Mr Traynor who o feel now has fobbed me off for all this time and I have truely lost my faith! I am considering paying to go and see another surgeon for advice!! I’ve asked my go and all she has said is they can treat the infection but I need to see my surgeon for proper advice!!! I can not take any more time off work or o feel I may loose my job as I am still on a probabtipnary period!!!
I am at my whits end on what to do!!!!

Hi Hun sorry to here your having a shit time with your recovery I also had my traynor and got to see he’s been amazing with me I had problems to start with and my nurse emailed him and he agreed to see me straight away your nurse has to get on contact with him to arrange to see him I would tell your nurse you want to see him and get some answers ten weeks is a long time to still be leaking fluid and not have it all healed xxxx

I have spoke to my nurse and she said she had sent him pictures and they will contact me but I’m still waiting to hear!!
I went back to see him when it originally started leaking at preseton all ready for surgery and a week off work, mill by mouth, travelled 3 hours and all he did was stitch it up! I trusted this would be the solution but then it continued to leak!! I went back for several dressing changes and he decided to try and stich it up again!!! Still it continues to leak!! I have a massive infection and feel so ill but have heard nothing from him in the last week!!

I would be speaking back to your nurse and demanding to see him asap and when you do see him again Hun tell him you don’t just want it stiching up this time as it clearly hasn’t worked the last two times and you can’t go on like this any longer eep if it’s making you feel so poorly as well it sounds to me like it needs opening up implant removed pocket all cleaned out and new implant placed in its never gonna heal if not as your pocket and implant inside already with have the infection on them it’s just gonna keep coming back xxx

I totally agree with you, only problem is I will loose my job if I take any more time off work, I was too honest with them so they know this is all to do with cosmetic surgery and I am on a probation period!! If this had been sorted originally when I first went back to Preston it would of all been sorted by now but instead I have been messed about passed from pillow to post and I feel been neglected! I am so stressed with what to do as I can’t afford to loose my job but worried what will happen if I don’t get this surgery sorted!!

In 10 weeks I have had 2 weeks off work for different appointments and surgeries not including the original surgery where I had not yet started my new job luckily x

I honestly feel for u Hun it has to be sorted tho really u can’t carry on like this it’s not fair on you I’d agree with you aswell I feel like you have totally bee let down my your nurse and mr traynor you shouldn’t of had to live like this for this long it should of been sorted straight away xxx

Thanks Stacey! I know it needs sorting and my health is most important I am just absolutely dreading telling work!! I am sure they will say this is not working for them! I am so gutted that this has happened! I really wish I had not got them done now, it has caused me so much stress and heart ache! Without my job I will not be able to pay my bills or my finance I got to get this procedure!! I am so stuck, maybe they will let me wait a few months for work to settle down and just keep dressing the wound! I dunno what the best option is but it would help if someone actually got back to me about this from Mya x

I’m sure your work can’t sack you for health related illness although it was a cosmetic procedure it would come under health related illness now I would think Hun I would keep on st mya Hun better to get it sorted now rather than later xxx

So sorry to hear about what you’ve been going through, it sounds horrible. I agree with Stacey, hopefully they won’t be able to sack you because it’s health related. I wonder if you could try to see the nurse or surgeon on a Saturday or out of hours? Try and explain the situation and that you can’t take anymore time off work but you need this sorted.

I would go to A&E if your feeling very ill and not getting the response you should be from the people who are supposed to be your care providers at this time, in terms of looking after your implants they obviously can’t help but in regards to your health and infection they can advise and possibly treat you, so sorry things have been so bad for you xxx

Thanks girls, I went to A&E and they prescribed me some antibiotics and redressed my inscisions for me. Finally this afternoon 6 days later, mys contacted me to ask me to go to Preston tomorrow!! I only got the message after work today and tried to call back and they are closed!!
I can’t just phone in sick tomorrow or I will begin to be monitored at work for sickness and if I need more surgery will need even more time off! I just know that they will not accept this at the end of my three month probabtion period as they have already said that it is elective surgery and I have chosen to have this therefore can not class it as sickness! I’m annoyed as well at MYA for last minute calling me and asking me to go in tommorrow! I just can’t and I am feeling much better after a few days of antibiotics so I don’t feel it is classed as an emergency! I can still go to work I’m not that poorly! I am tired and don’t know what to do for the best anymore!

I I understand you work issue Hun and that your feeling better but I would suggest you go to Preston to moz as although u don’t feel it’s an emergency your only feeling better with antibiotics once they stop it most probably come back again and u will start to feel more ill again it defo needs sorting xxx

What a rubbish situation your in! I would phone the clinic in the morning and see if they can rearrange for your next day off? Explain how much time off you have had to take off a new job due to mya not doing the correct thing in the first place. Had mr traynor took you down for surgery that first time you went to see him when you had a week off work this all probably would have been solved x

Hopefully your employer will just extend your probation period, it’s not your fault you have an infection and you need it treated, maybe ring Acas about your work situation n get clear advise on where you stand xx

Thank you everyone, I’m just feeling so down about the whole situation! Thank you everyone for your advice, I’ve spoke to the nurse tonight and she is doing her best to try and sort things out for me! I am just tired and I’ve had a few hard months! Hopefully we will get to the bottom of things and have it all sorted soon

Good luck I hope you get it sorted out. I think I would tell mya unless they sort it I’m going to go public to the papers and social media.. I think you may find although cosmetic surgery was initially why off from work, the extra time is due to infection – it should not mightier why or what caused it, it’s beyond your control. If you don’t get any joy from MYA who seem a real let down in after care, phone the breast experts (google) they are great at sorting mistakes xx defo go for your appointment your health is important and don’t forget infections spread it won’t just stay in boob xx
