Hi Girls,
I’m a B cup at the moment and I have considered a boob enlargement for a while now. After my initial consultation at the Bristol clinic I felt excited and instantly booked an operation date for this October. I went back yesterday for my medical and to meet my surgeon, but this time, I left feeling confused and deflated. My surgeon has recommended 325 cc under the muscle in order to obtain a more natural look (I had indicated that I would like to be a large D cup). These are my worries:
1. Will this size be too big? I’m 5’9 and 9.5 stone. Would anyone be kind enough to advise or send me some pictures of a similar spec? My main motive is to be able to finally achieve a cleavage and to be able to wear a bikini with confidence and not to hide my chest. I’m a teacher so I worry that staff and pupils will notice, I plan to be as discreet as possible.
2. What will other people think? So far I have only talked to my boyfriend who is suportive but I can’t bring myself to talk to friends or family because I think they will be negative about it.
3. I am quite active, I play netball and I run and I worry that it may make these activities more difficult. I know I will have to refrain from sport for 6 weeks after but what about after that? Do people worry about tearing the muscle or is it just a case of investing in a good sports bra?
4. I would like to have children in the next 4 years. My surgeon has reassured me that it will not affect breast feeding but what about the shape and size of my breasts following breast-feeding?
If any of you can relate to any of the above worries and reassure that would be great. I have 5 days to decide in order to get my deposit back.
Thanks, Chrissy x
Hi Chrissy
Your surgeon will know the best size for you ideal and realistic achievement trust them they do a set of new boobs every hour!!
You will be surprised I didn’t tell anyone but when my family found out they were all supportive and really excited and couldn’t wait to take a look and give a prod!!!
I’d say as they are complete indeed you will be out of action longer than 6 weeks the best way to describe it is like the after a car crash feeling in your chest but it is manageable and gets better quicker than you think but I certainly wouldn’t chance anything for at least 10 weeks
Yea no probs with having kids just try not to before your 1 yr p/op
It is perfectly normal for you to have theses doubts and anxieties its your body something new and something that will change your life and the way you feel about your body it’s dam right scary tbh but it’s well worth it trust me I’m 2 years p/o and I am so much happier in myself and my life and I’m proud to say I have implants which tbh people rarely ask if they are real or fake because you just can’t tell
I hope this helps you your questions and concerns are all the same as every ladies it’s all really ‘normal’
Take care
Jenny x
Hi jenny hope you don’t mind the add Hun could do with some mummy advice.i want to book my BA but I have a 2year old son and only a weeks worth of help.i am worried I won’t be able to cope with him as I’m a very hands on mummy 🙂 .added you too Chrissy hope you don’t mind Hun and I hope you will be happy what ever you decide Hun,I too am scared about telling everyone lol xx
Thank you so much Jenny. I hope that people would be supportive. I guess everyone must have worries like these. I have 5 days left to decide. The forum is helping. X
Lisa, do you think you will tell people? Whilst I don’t have a child of my own I am slightly concerned that 10 days after surgery I will be returning to work with children and it is hands on. I hope I will have recovered enough! X
Hi Lisa I’ll be honest you will struggle with a 2 year old but many ladies on here have managed and come through it the worst it day 3,4&5 for really feeling it so as long as you have help then it will just feel like you’ve been knocked about and quite tired so if your 2 year old naps still it would be good to nap together and have lots of films to hand as well as all you need at work surface level it will make life a lot easier but you certainly won’t be able to pick them up or push a buggy for a good week to 10 days without feeling considerable discomfort
x
Hi Chrissy I have added you. Also a teacher with similar stats (22, 5.9 and 10st) and looking to book for oct half term. Told a few friends but not my family! Have my first surgeon consult on Thursday with Dr Traynor. I was a little worried at first but now I’m just going to go for it. Everyone I have spoke to have said they have no regrets of having them done and many wish they’d had it done earlier. Just worried as the only date they had available was Thursday 29th and I would be back in school on Monday 2nd and not sure if this is enough recovery time. Although I am high school and could take it a little easier!
Hi Chrissy
I had my op yesterday with Nr Traynor at Preston. I am also a teacher and have 2 weeks until I go back to school. I was the same that I didn’t want anyone at work to notice. I have only told my friends and boyfriend but bit my family either as it was my decision an I don’t want them to influence me it be upset about it. I was a larger size than you before (34d) but a had no volume or shape at the top. I told my surgeon that I wanted shape and to go up to around a 34dd/e. I had 350cc HP and I am currently wearing a 36dd sports bra, so my equivalent is 34e. I had doubts and worries too, But at the end of the day they know best on size ( I’d say yours will be ok to take you to a d/dd) and then it’s what you want, try not to let other people influence you and go for what you want. I have wanted mine doing for 6 years and iv finally done it and don’t regret a thing 🙂 keep looking on here for girls with similar stats to you because that’s what settled my mind. Good luck 🙂
Hi!
We have the same worries!
I’m currently a 32 B. I’m 5 ft 8 and 9 and a half stone. I was offered a 375cc which should take me up to around a D/DD.
I want to try for a baby in the near future, but don’t really want to wait until then just in case it make it more difficult with a child.
I worry that I’d need longer off work than recommended too because I work in construction. (Least feminine job!!) I’m not too worried about the gym, I can take longer off the gym, and I know others manage to continue staying active. It’s just the healing time I worry about for work.
I’ve put it off, I haven’t actually booked surgery yet,as I was waiting to confirm my job was safe, but now I don’t know what to do.
My boyfriend is really supportive, and a few friends I have told have been however I havent told the family!
I don’t know whether I’m making excuses because I’m nervous though! !!
Good luck with your decision making! Xx
Hi Sarah, I had planned to have my surgery on Oct 21st and then I’d be back at work Nov 2nd. That would give me 10 days when 14 is recommended. So I’m not sure if you’ll have enough time. I’m hoping I’ll be able to drive as I have a bit of a commute and missing work will not be an option (as you can imagine!). I do work in secondary school but I coach a bit of sport as well so I’d have to be very lazy. Let me know what decision you make. X
Thank you Amy. Your advice is reassuring. The more I think about it, I worry less about what others will think as it is my own body. Plus I usually wear padded bras to with a tight sports bra I doubt it would look any different. I hope your recovery goes well. X
Hi Stephanie, I think everyone must have these worries. I guess I’m hoping to hear more from more people’s experiences and for people to say it is the best thing and go for it. I think you may struggle going back to construction work so early as they advise no heavy lifting for quite a while. Let me know what you decide. X

I was a b and I had 350cc hp unders. They look big when I’m topless but in clothes they’re not massive, probably due to the sports bra partly? Or because I’m used to always wearing padded bras? I also teach x
Hey.
I had 350cc 9 years ago and 450cc put in yesterday. In the 9 years since my first op nothing has changed in my life. No one could tell I had fakes (just thought I had a good pair of boobs) only time it was obvious id say is in certain bikinis, like the one I’m wearing in my pics)
9 years ago I was a huge gym/sports bunny and they didn’t affect my sport whatsoever. Like you said no sport for 6 wks and I did have to ease myself back in slightly. Not because I wasn’t able to do it, just for the sensation of doing it with boobs, at first I was worried id damage them but then I quickly realised I wouldn’t.
In those 9 years I’ve had 2 children and breast fed them both. The only issue I had with that is I had to stop at 3 months as I couldn’t keep up with their milk demand, maybe my implants had affected my milk ducts slightly and I wasn’t able to produce as much, but then again maybe not. Maybe that was just me.
It was honestly the best thing I ever did, made me alot more happier in myself. I was never an un confident person, didn’t hate anything about my boobs before, didn’t think they’d change my life and they didn’t. But they changed how I felt in clothes, the fact I could feel great in anything and buy nice underwear.
It was 100% the best thing for me. It sounds to me the best thing for you too but only you know that. Feel free to check my pics and ask questions if you’d like.
Good luck with whatever you choose xx
Ps.
Breast feeding affected my size slightly but that because the elasticity in your skins changes. That would happen regardless. They were still amazing and actually looked more natural after breast feeding, just a little small went from a 34dd to a 34d. The reason u had mine changed is because I had pip implants so I wanted them changing xx
Chrissy,
That seems like a reasonable size implant for the size you want. I wouldn’t worry about them being too big at all Hun.
Don’t care what others think, not their body, not their problem.
As for having kids; pregnancy will change them. I had 2 babies 2 years after having my BA and my breasts are now destroyed, they don’t look remotely how they did and I didn’t even breast feed.
Do what you feel happy with. If you want a smaller implant tell them. They may be the surgeons but it’s your body and you’re in control.
Hi Chrissy,
Just an update, I went to the surgical app with Dr Traynor who said I had slightly tubular breasts and recommended 350 HP overs, he also said I can have the op on 27th October, so would have until the 2nd off which is much better! My gut is to book the surgery when my pc comes back on Tuesday but still a little nervous as yet to tell family. Hope you are feeling a bit better about the op and decision now! I thought 350 would be too big but after researching before and after pics I think it will be the perfect size. Going to do the rice test later today to be sure.
X
Hi Chrissy, I am a teacher myself and had unders literally on the first day of the summer hols. I personally wouldn’t have felt able to go back to school and work after just 10 days. I work in primary with young children and didn’t want to risk one of them running into me etc. I would say you probably wont be able to lift lots of books/files after just 10 days and certainly not join in with any sport for a while. It’s definitely one of the best things I’ve ever done but you do need time to rest especially with unders. Xx
Hi Aimee, how long ago did you have your surgery? Your picture looks fairly new. Did you have unders or overs andWhat was your recovery time like? X
Hi Hannah that is really reassuring about you being able to breast feed still. What was your recovery like? X
Hannah, I can’t see any of your pics, are they on your profile? X
Sarah, you may well be fine then if you are having overs as I hear the recovery time is not as bad as unders. I wanted to obtain a natural look which is why I went for unders but my surgeon said at least 2 weeks no driving. I will have to drive afte 10-11 days so I’m hoping I will be okay. Are you definitely going ahead with it then? X
Hi Aly, do you really think 10 days will not be enough? How did you feel at that stage? How long did it take for you to feel like you could have gone back to work? I don’t work with small children so it wouldn’t be as physically demanding and I don’t teach sport until January when netball season begins. X
I’d say after 7 days I began to feel human again but I was exhausted for about 2 weeks had to have naps in the day! For me the pain had gone by then as well but it was still very tight and achey and the movement in my arms was still very limited. I was also extremely bloated for about 2 weeks to the point where I couldn’t stand up properly. I think 2 weeks after op would have been more manageable to go back…take a few a sick days, tummy bug maybe? It’s so worth while but you need time for your body to recover. What about changing to Christmas holidays? X
Very much the same as you. I’m 5’8 / 5’9 and just over 9 stone. I had 325cc unders last week. They are not too big and fit my frame. My surgeon did not offer any bigger as adv they would look too big on my frame. But they won’t be too big. I have boob greed and don’t feel mine are big enough haha x
Think everyone has worries … I do too one of my biggest is children as although I’m not ready for them just yet (I’m 23) but would like them in the near future … So worried I would be unable to breast feed at all an if they would be ruined afterwards so pleased to hear Hannah got on fine 🙂
As for the part about the sports bras i would as would several others on here recommend the shock absorber ultimate run bra… If you get properly fitted for them they will fit like a glove and give loads of support during any exercise. 🙂
Hi crissy!
I’m not far off your stats I’m 5ft 4ish and 9 stone 2
I have 425cc under the muscle and I love them to bits there perfect size, now I’d probably go bigger but glad I’ve not because they are just what I wanted.
As for being active I’m the exact same as you I run Bootcamps and go to a running club every night, I’m almost 3 weeks post op and driving my boyfriend up the walls, I can’t wait to go running again, I was seriously considering a small jog this week, I can’t be doing with another 3 weeks il drive everyone crazy, when you are active normally it’s normal I suppose to feel it a bit more as you need to blow off some steam!
My surgeon said to me that in years to come (should I ever need it) I could have an uplift later on.
Honestly the best thing I ever did, and when I wear a shirt for work it’s extremely discrete.
I feel amazing for it.
First week after surgery was abit grim and was a struggle to get up, but I came off my pain killers early as they were just slowing me down, by about day 5 I was absolutely fine.
I had friends who were off work for 3 weeks but I think some people can be abit over cautious, I was back at work the next week!
Just take it easy the first week, and make sure you have a lot of movies or subscription to Netflix haha! Xxx
Hi Paige I have added you! Thanks for the advice that is really helpful. I have added you I hope you don’t mind. Do you have any pictures? So did you say you went back to work after one week? What do you do for a job? Did people notice? Please let me know how you get on with the running. I am happy to take 6 weeks off I’m just worried I will not be mobile enough to go back to work after just 10 days. Xx
Hi that’s absolutely fine!
Yes I have before and after pics on my profile il try and add some here and a pic in my shirt now to try and explain how easy it is being subtle!
I told 2 girls at work and they said I look amazing and glowing, but with being subtle no one else has said anything and I don’t think they can really tell.
I’m a wedding and event coordinator and I had my op on Thursday 6th and was back Sunday 16th absolutely fine!
Il keep you updated with running because I’m soo keen to get back in and don’t think I can wait another 3 week!
I’m also a hairdresser and had a wedding with 2 people to do 2 days after my op , i probably shouldn’t have done but I didn’t feel too restricted while doing this.
I just took it easy for the rest of the time as they is what they suggest for a speedy recovery! Xxx
Hey. Yes I have loads of pics on my profile. My recovery has been great I’m only 6 days post op and back to normal completely. I think it’s alot different for me though because I was just having my implants changed so everything was already stretched. Xx
Grrrr it won’t let me. I have loaded it onto my pics xx
Thanks so much Paige, it’s so good to hear you were straight back to work with no problems. Like I said I have 10 days off and will have to go back to work as I teach. I felt so much better talking to my PC at the Bristol clinic yesterday, she said some girls even drive themselves to their one week appointment. She also reassured that they can provide a medical note to say I’ve had an opp but it’s really discreet but it would enable me to have more time off if needed. Your pics look really good and I’m no longer worried about people noticing. Your before pics are really similar to how I am now. I am starting to get really excited now! Xx
Wow Hannah you look really good. I’m booked to have 325cc unders. I am now thinking I should go to 350cc. What do you think? How has it been looking after your little one? Xx
Thanks hun. There’s hardly any different between 32t and 350 not enough to make you change bra size so I’d go for 350! My 350 were a good size but I got boob greed ha! It’s been so so easy this time round but like I said everything’s already stretched so it’s bound too. My hubby has been at home helping with the kids so it’s been a breeze so far! Hopefully it continues ? xx
Hi! Yes I booked it today for 27th oct in Preston for 350 overs. Feeling excited. When are you booked in for and where? Was worried about timescale and going back to work but will have 6 days off… Should be ok!
Hi Sarah. I’m booked in 21st October in London. I’m having 325 unders but now wandering if I should have 350. I will have to go back and see my surgeon again though if I want to go bigger. I’m feeling so much better now about recovery times. You’ll be having yours done really close to me!! Xx
