I’m 1 week PO today and I’m feeling so run down, I can’t stop shivering and my boobs feel tingly. My incisions have been so sore today & It’s almost like its hurting me to shiver! Haven’t got my 1 week check until Friday but don’t want to bother the nurse for nothing..did anyone else feel like this after their surgery? X
Hi Hun it could just be due to the anaesthetic, I would 100% just call the nurse, that’s what they are there for, I know from your previous posts you have said about feeling run down it wouldn’t hurt checking it out Hun at least for piece of mind, in the 1st week I was really shivery but didn’t feel run down just really really tired like literally couldn’t keep my eyes open, it’s probably just our bodies way of coping with what we’ve been through x x x
I think for the first week I felt a bit shivery too, thought I was coming down with the flue , walked around the house in my PJs and my thick dressing gown ..,, if your worried just phone the nurse , I did last week . I was panicky and worried so I rang the nurse and they told me to come to the clinic , luckily every thing was fine , but the nurse said , if I ‘m worried or concerned about anything .., I should ring the clinic to speak to a nurse
I’ve tried to ring them 10 times this morning to bring my post op check forward and I’ve had no answer from anyone! Nightmare to get hold of and my PC is off! Gonna keep trying today hopefully I’ll get through so they can see me tomorrow my left side is so sore I’ve had more pain in that side since day one but it still doesn’t seem right! I’ll let you know how i get on thanks ladies xxx
I think it could be due to the anaesthetic, I had my op on Sunday and I was fine for the first two days but yesterday was horrible I felt sick all day and I was not with it at all and my boobs was so achy, in the end I had to make myself sick to get rid of the horrible feeling and then I slept it off. I feel a lot better today but just taking it steady, I think I am recovering quicker than what I am sometimes due to not having pain all the time I think I can do normal things which isn’t the case! I think it can take a while for the anaesthetic to go, hope you are feeling better today 🙂 x
@aimeemx I would definitely ring the nurse – if you can’t get an answer maybe ring the emergency number? I really wouldn’t feel bad about ringing them – that’s what they’re there for!
If I remember rightly I tried to ring the Newcastle clinic on a morning before and I’m almost sure that some days they’re not open until some time in the afternoon!
It’s probably just something to do with the anaesthetic but best to be on the safe side 🙂 xx
I was/am exactly the same. I was told it could be side effects of antibiotics or I could have caught a cold/flu due to my immune system being more vulnerable after surgery. I’m getting better day by day. I’m two weeks post op and these symptoms have been bothering me for about a week.
As long as you don’t have a temperature/fever or swelling in the boobs you should be fine. The nurses will check your blood pressure and temperature to rule out any complications. I called the emergency number and they weren’t able to bring g forward my appointment but called each day to check my symptoms. Mainly if my boobs were swelling or red and if I had a high temperature.
I have a GO appointment at the weekend to check if it’s viral.
I’ve managed to get a appointment with the nurse tomorrow so hopefully I’ll be fine 🙂 thanks girls! Think I’ve maybe just got a cold in general coming on, wouldn’t mind if my bloating would go tho I still look pregnant 8 days PO! Xxx
I had these symptoms to! Don’t worry I was totally fine! Mostly side effects of the tablets and antibiotics xxx
