Shower???

Hi guys

I’m nearly 3 weeks post op and was wondering how long after surgery was you allowed to shower properly? I’m having shallow baths but I just feel disgusting because I prefer having a shower 🙁
Also when will I be allowed to use bio oil on my scars? I haven’t had time to see the nurse because of starting my new job so haven’t been able to ask questions xx

I had stitches removed yesterday 2 weeks post op and was told fine to shower but dont apply soap directly on your incision sites. But shower wash hair as normal.And no oil etc on them until 6 weeks post op. Xx

I think it’s all down to how you’e healing as an individual as you don’t want to irritate the incisions. I’m having my 1 week check today, I’ll ask the nurse 🙂 I feel your pain i’m dying to wash my hair!!

Everyone is different. Your incisions need to be well dried out before you can shower and bath properly.
As for bio oil, when your incisions have been dried out for a couple of weeks, you should be able to start using it.

Thanks girls 🙂 finally got in to see the nurse and there’s certain parts where the stitches haven’t dissolved so still can’t have a shower 🙁 and I’ve been able to wash my hair just kills my back bending over the bath!
