Showering after surgery

Hey girlies!

How long will I have to wait until I can shower after my op? And in the mean time will I be able to sit in a bath or will it be easier to just use wipes?
Also, I’m worried that I won’t be able to shave for quite a while especially under my arms as I hate the thought of feeling dirty!!!
Any advice?? Xx

I was allowed to shower as soon as I had my dressings taken off and incisions checked on day 7. You can’t get soap on the incisions but you can let water run over them

Also you can have baths but if you haven’t had your 1 week check you can only have your bottom half in the water and if you are past 7 days then you still have to make sure not to get soap or soapy water on your incisions.

Wipes were easiest for me I went through so many packets lol. The shaving was the hardest for me because I couldn’t lift my arms up! But I managed to lift my arms enough to shave them on day 8 and it’s getting easier every day

That’s all really helpful. I just don’t like the idea of having to go so long without washing properly! I’ll stock up on wipes then haha! Might wax under my arms just before my surgery so it will last a little longer.

I was the same it was torture lol. But the wipes were a god send!

Waxing is definitely a good idea. I kept kicking myself for not doing it before my op haha.

It’s all worth it though xx
