sick or annual leave??

Hi girls, ive had my consultation and now im looking at booking my surgery for february next year, im starting to think about talking to my boss about having a week off after the surgery. Do i need to book this as annual leave or can any of it be sick?

I also feel really embarrassed to discuss it with my boss but its got to be done. Xx

I’ve done all of mine within a space of 3 weeks. Had PC and surgeon consultation within a day! Lol. I suggest taking it off as “holidays” so at least you get paid for it, obviously depending on how many holidays you’ve already taken this year, as the new tax year starts again on april 🙂 Also, some of the things that the girls have dreaded was booking it in advance as trust me the wait is going to kill you! So always soon as possible. You might be able to get discount too if you took a late space 🙂 Just say you’re going on holiday or something, you are not obliged to tell them anything as you will be taking it as your holidays 🙂 xx

Thanks i get sick pay so thats not a problem and i know my boss will be fine cuss hes good like that….its just a little embarrassing! Im gonna tell him cuss im going from an A to a C/D so they are gonna know.

Im looking at booking for feb cuss i have a holiday in Jan and i want to save a little more money.

Hi I’m not telling my bosses! I’m gona take it off as holiday and buy a few big size baggy zip up hoodies, by time winters over I’m sure they won’t notice I’ve got more than a push up bra on haha! It’s your choice xx

I wasn’t sure but took it off as annual leave. I went from an A to a C/D and nobody said anything at work thank god lol x

I took it as sick leave and when i was in the hospital they did me my sick note too as your are unfit for work, just tell him its personal but it surgery on your breast ytust me he wont pry any further! LOL!

Ok thanks everyone. I think i might tell my boss cuss i will have the chance to work from home more often if i tell him, i might look into a sick note. Xx

i was honest with my boss and told her the reason why i was taking a week annual leave, as i wanted to be on light duties when i returned xx

@smoggs im same as u had to tell my manager as i need to be on light duties when i return.. ive took 8 days annual leave but shes letting me have more off.. shes been fantastic x

I said I was having surgery, my boss asked me if I wanted to talk about it lol; I told him him it’s women’s health issues, and to be honest I’d prefer to leave it at that.. His response was ok no problem wishing you a speedy recovery lol xxxx
