Silicone Scar Gel?

Hi Girlies, I’m currently 5 weeks post and wondered if anyone post op has tried silicone scar gel? I am petrified of scarring badly or worse having keloid scarring so have bought Kelo-Cote to try out. I have been told not to put any product on the incisions until after 6 weeks so haven’t used it yet but wanted to get some opinions/experiences from girls who have tried something similar.
