When can we start sleeping flat on our backs. And also would we ever be able to sleep on our front again? May be a silly question

I think it’s a week on before u can sleep on your back. I’m 5 days PO and slept flat last night. Think you’re best asking at your check up about sleeping on your front cause it’s a longer wait

Sleeping upright is meant to reduce swelling bt I couldnt cope anymore. Keep waking up on my side (I’m a side sleeper)

I slept upright till 5/6 days and started sleeping flat on my back and then at 15 days nurse sed I can start sleeping on my side but to be careful and not put all pressure on my boobs and put pillows under my side.

I asked the nurse at my 1 week post op about sleeping on my back and she said not until at least two weeks as sleeping upright means you’re not putting pressure on your incisions and keeping flat too early can make them come open again or cause them to bleed….but everyone is told different x

Everyone’s told different with sleeping it seems so just listen to whatever your nurse advises I guess lol although I’ve been listening to my mum more as she had a ba few years ago and tbh my nurse was being a bit over the top! Should be fine to sleep on your back from a week post op as long as your comfortable:) I’ve ended up on my side a lot recently by accident and I’m nearly 3 weeks post op but apparently you can’t sleep on your side until 6 weeks so who knows! Lol x
