    Hi Girls,

Just a quick one, what is the reasoning again for sleeping on our back for 4 weeks?

I feel comfortable enough to sleep on my side now but don’t want to do it if we HAVE to sleep on our back.

Advice appreciated, I am 18 dpo xx

I’ve been so uncomfortable on my back & desperately want to get comfy on my side … Only just now a month po feeling ok-ish on my side

Read on my post op sheet that should be on my back for 8 weeks!

There’s a few websites don’t you don’t need to be on your back at all ???

“To avoid any unnecessary pressure on the healing breast tissue and displacement of the implant pocket, most plastic surgeons advise their clients to sleep strictly on their backs for the first four to six weeks post-breast augmentation. In this position, the breast tissue will not experience direct pressure or malposition, nor are the incisions under additional tension or strain.’

I think it’s to help with drop and symmetry. I remember having the worse back ever for the first couple of weeks but elevating your legs helps with that. Stick a pillow or two under your thighs xx

I had my 1 week post op check on Tuesday at 8 dpo and I was told I could sleep on my side and shower from then. I’m 10dpo now and feel comfortable on my side. Always best to go with what your nurse/surgeon advises. I’ve seen a lot of girls who only have their bands for 2 weeks but I have to wear mine for 6. I barely notice it now anyway so it shouldn’t be too bad x

@Laurane thank you! my 1st nurse said sleep on back for ages BUT she’s also said i couldn’t shower etc but the ward nurse I saw on my 16 dpo said some people just say it to be on the safe side and to do what feels comfortable. I keep going on my side through the night anyway so I cant help what happens when i’m asleep so I will try to stay on my back but will have to see haha xx
