I’m 2weeks 1 day po.
I had 450 overs with dr traynor
My back is killing every morning. Wondering when is it I can sleep on side x
Im 6 days po and my back is also killing me. Are you sleeping propped up? Ive got loads of pillows but they dont seem to help at all. I think we are supposed to sleep on our backs for a good few weeks 🙁 xx
I’d try and sleep on your back as long as you can. But any decent sleep is better than none. I think the back pain is due to the healing rather than position x
I got a travel pillow for around my neck that really helped me feel more comfortable. Also hot water bottle really helps relive the pain. I really suffered with my back but luckily my surgeon only says to sleep upright for 2 weeks xx
Hi Hun from 2 weeks post op you can sleep laying flat on your back xxxx
You’re not meant to sleep on your side til 6 weeks, I’m just past 3 and a couple of times I have rolled over onto my side in the middle of the night then woke up properly 5 mins later cos my chest starts acheing xx
I was allowed to sleep on my side or any postition from a week I think I did it from 2 weeks though as they were still a bit tender! All surgeons are different and I didn’t go with mya x
I can’t even sleep flat on my back until after 6 weeks 🙁 the pain hasn’t bothered me really at all it’s just not being able to sleep that’s affecting me xx
Hi I asked my PC at mya & she said absolutely not on your side for 6 weeks but laying flat fine after 2 weeks as long as all swelling gone down and no pain . I think sleeping on side is a bit of a grey area as I looked on real self & there are so many posts about it & most surgeons who have responded said min 6 weeks. X
I had my 1wpo today? My nurse said I can sleep how ever I feel comfortable now. I won’t be sleeping on my side for a while yet tho.
Xx
I’m 4 weeks po and have been sleeping on my side whilst supporting my breasts x
I’ve been doing the same as Kate. Week 1 I slept completely upright, week 2 I came down slightly and slept at an angle, week 3 I was completely flat, week 4 I’m on my side. Sleeping so much better!, I’m still in my sports bra. I did a lot of research into this and many surgeons say as long as your are upright or flat for the first two weeks you’ll can be ok. It’s mainly to help with swelling and also implants dropping into their pockets. As long as you don’t roll onto your front it will be ok. Xx
