Ladies,
I slept on my back last night and woke up in a lot of pain, what is better to prop yourself up which leads to back ache?
Xx
Sarah what I did when sleeping upright is make sure there is an orthapetic cushion under your back that helps hun x
Hi sarah .i slept propped up with a v pillow which was comfy but got a bit of a numb bum this morn tho .hope ure healing well .xx
I have about 8 pillows and a v pillow, I have one under my bum then up my back to support it and then propped up with my v pillow too. My boyfriend asked me if I’m building a fort I have that many haha!!xx
Hey I’ve not looked into pillows yet, where are you all buying them?
XX
I think I’m going to need a V pillow. I’m really scared about the sleeping situation over everything else because I struggle to sleep as it is and I can only fall to sleep on my front 🙁 it’s actually putting me off completely because the thought of not being able to sleep is depressing. Does anybody know how long it takes before you can sleep on your stomach again? x
@Fiona i dreaded the sleeping as i dont sleep that well either and when i cant get to sleep im a right cow lol but first nyt no sleep im 5 days post op now and it isnt comfortable sleeping upright im not sleeping well at all but it is getting better, my surgeon told me at lest a week pretty much completely upright but im not sure after that i will ask at my first post op appointment i dno if its recommended for first 6 weeks..x
Vpillows are a tenner in Argos 🙂 Absolute life saver! Sleeping upright is reccomended for a week as it stops swelling and the pocket becoming stretched sideways, if you have overs you’ll be fine to sleep on your back after a week all though most find it comfy to sleep slightly propped for the first 3 weeks to stop the dreaded “morning boob” where everything becomes tight and painful from the pressure of laying flat. If you have unders you will likely need to sleep uright for 3 weeks or so for comfort reasons alone, then gradually move to a laying position, Side and front sleeping isn’t recommended for 6-8 weeks x
@Kaydee thanks for that as i have unders and this is helpful xx
How sat up do u need to be .i have my v pillow but been sort of slouched ? Xxx
I attempt to sit upright but i think naturally u slouch abit n it hurts to pull myself up but im always doing that x
I’m 2 weeks post op and still get the dreaded morning boobs 🙁 I’m still sleeping upright but threw the night I slip down I Hate sleeping upright long to lie on tummy or side but u get used to it for the sake of ur boobies 🙂 x
Aww I’m craving to sleep snuggled on my side and I’m only 1 day post op lol xx
@Chanel Aww bless you that sounds like what I will be like. I guess I will just have to sacrifice my sleep for a few weeks haha. Did you feel really sleepy after the op from the anaesthetic? I think I’m just going to build a pillow fortress and hope for the best. I’m not good with no sleep either 🙁 I really love my sleep, it’s going to be so hard to not sleep on my stomach. Dreading it lol x
I bought a v pillow from john Lewis abit pricey but comfy and will last long time I find the Argos ones dent in the middle and lose shape x
