How long do we have to sleep sitting up for? I’m really struggling, I think I would feel some much better after a decent nights sleep! I seem to get comfy for a couple of hours then my backs aches, my bum gets numb! I’m 6 days op, help!! Xxx

My information says back or side for the first 8-12 weeks, but I’m a non-MYA patient. I slept mostly on my side last night and found it comfortable wearing a good sports bra.

It’s boring now isn’t it. I’ve slept on my back the last couple nights as I just can’t do it anymore. I only had a week off work and sleeping sitting up is like having no sleep at all ?? I rolled into my side last night though and the pain woke me up! I’m such a fidget at night. This sleeping business is proving pretty hard!xxx

My nurse said 6 weeks is advised for sleeping at a 45 degree angle so sat up a bit.. I’ve found I lie down almost flat but have a lot of pillows behind but also around me so it’s props me up a bit and I would say I’m at a good level, raised a bit but it stops the bum ache and back ache as your body is still led down! I tried to lie down on my side to see what it felt like and there’s just no chance and im 2 weeks post op!! Just feels so weird but I miss it sooooo much haha. The things we go through. Xxxx

I’m going to going try lowing myself a bit see if it helps, I’m only 6 days post op so early days yet! I see the nurse in Manchester on Friday. Thanks for the comments, xx
