R there no smokers on this forum…i gave up recently unrelated to the surgery as i hadnt booked then and didnt no then that it makes any difference to surgery…does nybody no nything bout smoking and havin a ba or anybody a smoker who had a ba and aware of any difficulties it can cause as only just read bout this, kinda wana no coz i was thinkin i myt b defo craving one on the morning of op lol
I think it’s the same as alcohol, they say to not smoke/drink for 2 weeks before and 2 weeks after surgery! I think anyways! Same if you’re on the pill, they say to stop that for 2 weeks either side too! X
Hi Chanel
I was about 10-12 per day. When I went to see Mr Traynor in May he asked if I smoked and was horrified when I said yes!!!!! He asked if I could give up 2 weeks before and 2 weeks post surgery which I said yes to. After my summer hol end of August I decided to give up completely. He told me and then I read that smokers don’t heal as well and scarring is worse in smokers so that was my incentive!!!! Why not get one of the disposable ones in case of emergency craving!!!
I havent really been told anything as my pre op only a wk b4 surgery as it goes i stopped my pill couple weeks ago just because ive been on it years n wanted a change which is funny bcoz i wouldnt have been aware of that early enough with nobody tellin me x
Well im glad i read about it coz i had been smoke free for 6wks then had the odd one this past week so goin to try and stop altogether again with the scar incentive i still have 3wks to go ffs that will prob kill me on the morning of op haha x
That’s lucky isn’t it!! I think it’s just as it can increase chances of bleeding etc after surgery or something! Make sure on day of surgery you don’t eat for 6 hours before, or drink for 2 hours before! X
Yea it is lucky abit mad actually coz ive been onit for years and just decided to stop..creepy lol Thanks katy x
Lol clearly your boobs are meant to be then!! Lol x
Me too Chanel and this was the incentive I needed. It’s the alcohol that you need to watch as well cos that thins your blood and increases bloods loss during surgery 🙂 my op was 08 Oct and I stpooed drinking on 22 September…….now that was hard!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Going out tonight to celebrate my wedding anniversary and nurse said I’m OK to drink in moderation 🙂
