Smoking

I’ve got my op on Sunday and I still haven’t managed to stop smoking although I have cut down quite a bit, I still smoke over 10 a day, will they still do the operation? xx

Ive got 7 days im quitting tomorrow xx
But i know how u feel its so hard x

I smoked up until the day of op which I know I shouldn’t have! I had an e cig at the ready and used it for about 4 weeks now I have quit altogether. Quitting is best but even cutting down is better than nothing xx

Thanks Hun, will I have any side effects with the GA or healing? I’ve been trying so hard to quit but the closer I’m getting the more nervous I am and the harder I’m finding it to quit xx

Mine is on Tuesday and I still haven’t 🙁 I’ve cut down. I’m going to try my best tomorrow to stop xx

There are higher risks if you smoke prior to surgery and delayed healing with your scar but in general smoking is bad for you and I stopped smoking about 4months before well I first cut down and then bought a shisha pen which I now completely don’t smoke at all but ok I admit I have the odd cheeky one when out in the club’s drinking etc I’m well over 5 months post op tho mind so if you are close to surgery id advise not to smoke at all xx goodluck

Even when you say to your self boobs or fags it still doesnt help youd think knowing what risks can come from smoking would make it easier to quit but it doesnt for me xx

Had mine today & I’m still smoking.. So hard 2 quit! Thought i would get a lecture about it but they never said a thing.!! I’m going 2 quit in the next couple of days. Don’t be to hard on urself if u don’t manage it. But gud luck anyways xx

Exactly, and the closer the date got the harder I found it, I’ve only had 3 weeks since I spoke to the PC and got my date otherwise I probably would have found it much easier if I’d started stopping months ago xx
