Hey hun, I didn’t end up going with MYA but I had a consultation there. I was told I needed to stop smoking at least 5 weeks before surgery and that I would get tested on the day and if it came back like high they wouldn’t operate on me? It’s to do with the healing process. I ended up going with my nearby private hospital and here again I was told to stop smoking five weeks before. I didn’t haha. All I did was cut down smoking. It’s a big thing and a nervous thing to go through and to just stop smoking all together is difficult. All I would suggest is 1 week before surgery to cut down. I ended up having 3 cigarettes a day. However where my surgery was at they didn’t test me for smoking so I was ok. I had under the muscle and everyone is so so different but I have really struggled with the pain and I’m now 3 days post op and I haven’t had a cigarette since Thursday due to my pain. Like I said everyone is so different my friend had under the muscle and she suffered with no pain at all. I’ve really struggled since I woken up from theatre. I just feel like I have bricks on my chest and getting up and getting back down is uncomfortable. I know I will get there in the end and you will too. Good luck hun ?x
