im due to have surgery 2moz and theyv now rang me today and told me i need a doctors letter to say i need a doctors letter to state my chest is ok after a collapsed lung i had last year i mean wtf my op is tomoz im seriously now annoyed and cant get hold of my pc either
If you call your doctors today they should be able to forward it over to MYA today.
Wow I’m not surprised your annoyed I would be too! Don’t know why they would ask you the day before when I’m assuming they’ve known about your medical history for a while. Fingers crossed you can get a doctors note today and then take it with you tomorrow xx
yes iv told them and i also told the surgeon in the consultation wholeaves stuff until this late the day before now im running around totally stressed
I’m going through something similar with anti-depressants. They are saying they need a fax from my doc to say im mentally stable but they have sent it to the wrong docs my op is on Thursday and I’m just constantly ringing docs and then them all day!
babe ring the doctors and explain, if they say they cant do a 1 day turn around ask to speak to the surgery manager and they should be able to help. let them know you have paid for this and it isnt your fault….hope it works out ok hun xx
That’s pretty crap, and quite unprofessional. I hope you get it sorted Hun.. Can’t help but wonder lately that it is all about the money with MYA… !!!
Welcome to MYA! Unprofessional customer service at its best
Iv contacted the doc who has said she need yo speak yo the surgeon that did the op a year ago How ridiculous
I’m so sorry you have had to deal with that so close to your op!! Hope u get it sorted!
I have crohns and had a similar thing, was given a letter to get my specialist to sign, he did then they said instead needed a headed printed up letter from him! It was a close call as then the hospital said mya needed to send them a letter telling him exactly what needed to know, then mya said we can’t ask for your details without your patient signature ! And there was no way I could get into London intime to sign the letter at mya to send intime for my op!
Thankfully my specialist did it without my signature! But was very stressful and I still didn’t know for quite long time leading up to my op if it would be done intime!
i just cant believe its the day before as it stands now im not having my surgery tomoz
i have already paid for the surgery and im hoping they get it sorted swiftly you pay them all this money to be messed about its ridiculous my doctors said its there responsibility to chase up health records i told them id had lung surgery the previous year and wasn’t a problem until the day before
I had exactly the same issue with MYA. My surgery is on Thursday and last WEEK they asked for a psychiatric report to say I’m stable. I had to have a psychiatrist appointment on my birthday and was absolutely miserable. I only managed to make an appointment so soon because I almost cried! I felt so under pressure and torn. Not only that but MYA called my GP over 6 times a day, badgering them….which then came back on me. MYA really weren’t very professional.
I’m just hoping my procedure is perfect as they’ve already distressed me so much.
Yes its very unprofessional it’s seems they really desperate for the money ect j cancelled and awaiting my refund anxnj wouldn’t recommend them it’s becoming an apparent problem on here
I go the Manchester/Liverpool clinic ? xxxx been great so far xxxx
I was with Nottingham xx
Yeah I’m with Bristol and they’ve been fantastic, really professional and lovely. I was wondering whether it was a certain clinic that was causing loads of problems but it doesn’t seem like that either :s xx
I told them 12 months ago I had an op and there was no problem I also told my surgeon and there was no problem then after iv paid and it’s the day before the op there’s a big problem still annoyed do couldn’t have my op and theyv said I need to be refereed to a specialist chest surgeon for an xray and tests before I can proceed
