Having my op next Saturday and still haven’t had a letter from my doctors. They recogn they haven’t received it from MYA. Been on the phone all day trying to sort it and now they told me I have to go see a doctor and then it will take a few weeks to get the letter. Agggghhhh.

I had the same problem only got my letter to mya 2 days before as had to wait to see my Gp but she faxed the letter later that day and called me to let me know. Tell your Gp how important it is and see if you can get them to fax it over to your pc call them first to get the fax number good luck try not to stress your Gp only needs to confirm that you are fit for surgery that will only take 5 mins plus they can attach any medical history needed xx

Hi, I had a similar problem, MYA wrote to my GP to confirm I was fit for surgery because of medical history, it took my GP nearly a month to finally respond and it’s only from me chasing it like mad that they ever did respond! I phoned the doctors and actually asked for my GP to phone me, he sent the letter that same day! Just keep nagging them! The nurses at MYA did tell me not to worry though and said even if they don’t get a letter my op wouldn’t be cancelled, but it’s nice to have confirmation 🙂 I don’t know your situation but hope that was helpful! I was told it would be cancelled. The receptionists were so arsey. Never ring back and don’t understand the urgency I have. They think I am being a pain and do not understand what I am asking. Was getting excited but this is seriously changing things.
