Squeamish….

I’m 14 days po & I’ve had my check, the nurse said I could take my steri strips off last weekend. But I haven’t. I’m worried that my bra will catch on the scars while they’re healing, but I’m more bothered about seeing the scars coz I’m quite squeamish and find the thought of looking at them quite upsetting, which I know sounds silly. What I’d like to know is, is it ok that I still have the steri strips on, or would they heal better without anything on? xx

Hello you can go the the chemist and ask for steri strips and they should be able to give you some, I’d take them off just to see of they are ok or get your partner to look if you don’t want to, and then cover them up with the new strips until you feel your ready, I had mine off on Sunday and I’m still in my macom bra and they haven’t caught and I can’t see them sticking out, I will be using a sports bra as I tomorrow so not sure whether it will bother them hope that’s helps 🙂 x

I’ve asked bf if he would change the strips for me, so think I will go and buy some. My boobs are still very sore & tender & uncomfortable so I don’t want to do anything to irritate them more. xx

I know how you feel I was the same, I was looking at my scars today and hate them 🙁 but so worth it for big boobs 🙂 xxx

Hey hun did the nurse say you still had a bit of healing to do then? If you’re all sealed its better to keep them off to completely dry out but if you want that extra security I can’t see what harm it would do to have them on but I’d definately change them 🙂 I know how you feel about scarring I got really freaked out having mine off for the first time especially since I had to sit in a car for a hundred odd miles after, felt so exposed & vulnerable but needless to say I was fine, they were fine 🙂 I have a lot of scarring from an uplift aswell as a ba & aeriola reduction so seeing the scars for the first time was overwhelming but just make sure you’re sitting down with maybe a hand held mirror & in your own time, take it all in your stride hun good luck xx

Thank you girls, I’ll get on it at weekend. I don’t know how they’re healing as I’ve not looked at them. I check my boobs every day & look for seepage or anything through the strips tho. xx

Finally got round to changing the steri strips, the only ones I could find were slimmer than the ones Mya used. My left scar looks ugly but my right one is a lot neater. Got the bf to do them for me. I do like my new boobs but it’ll be a while before the scars grow on me (as it were)! I just don’t feel ready to leave them uncovered and see them every day 🙁 xx

Im really squeamish too but I did it when I got out of the shower so they had lost their sticky and peeled right off. Your bra shouldn’t rub on them if its low enough. At first they do look scabby but after another shower you’ll see a big difference xxx
