Ok so I’m so confused! My nurse said at my 1 week post op that I could shower and get my strips wet but to just pay them dry (I asked a question yesterday) anyway so had shower yesterday and my left got really wet some how dried anyway but today I have little spots around my left come up so rang the nurse a different one and she said I can’t get steri strips wet at all and I need to take them off and maybe go see her if they are bad when they are off.. So I’m going to do that in a min but really confused as to why my nurse said it was ok to shower with them? Just wondering what you were all told and if anyone showers with steri strips and just pats them dry? Thank you! Xx
When I got told I could shower she told me whilst I was in the shower and the strips were wet, slowly peel them off. She didn’t give me any more to put on but I bought some as I felt safer with them on. That was on my 2 week check up xx
I haven’t got anything on my scars I’m only 12 days post op. I’m allowed to shower and just pat tnem dry. There healing so much quicker now there not covered x
Girls this has really worried me, my week check up PO my nurse took all dressing off & said I could shower. Didn’t mention using steri strips or anything.. I’ve been too scared to shower so far but going to later, does it matter if the incisions/scars get wet then? Do I need these strips? Xx
Don’t worry elishia I think if it’s healed enough they just leave everything off think mine wasn’t healed completely 🙂 just confused though about the washing part! X
The nurse didn’t tell me to put the strips on I just done it on my own back because I felt safer with them on, I bought them from wilkinsons, only applied them after another 2 showers and now I don’t use them xx
