Still lucazade

Silly question

Have my surgery on Wednesday & was just wondering what still lucazade is? I’m just confused with the “still” bit. Is it just letting it go flat or is there an actual still lucazade drink out there haha apparently it helps after the surgery or can anyone recommend other drinks? Thanks

Hey Lisa, it’s the juice ones that you can get comes in the bottle with the cap rather than the fizzy one with the screw lid. I took one on my op day as someone had suggested it but my nurse told me not to drink it, and to stick to water xx

I’ll just stick to water then Hun, I wasn’t really keen on drinking it tbh as I don’t normally drink any other apart from juices! I just can’t though if it helped with sickness etc after it’s worth a try, trying to get organised & it’s just not happening lol x

Haha Awh. Tbh you really don’t need much. I took trackies, baggy too and zip hoody to travel home in, I took slippers but didn’t use them as they give you slippers. I took a couple snacks an drew the lucozade but didn’t even have them either cos I wasn’t hungry at all after the op. Oh and my bra xxx

Hey Hun, I had Morrisons still sports drink before the surgery instead of Still Lucozade. I don’t know if it’s anything to do with it but my recovery after GA was quite quick, I was on my way home just over 3 hours after surgery. I didn’t even feel sick and kept my food down too. X

Thanks @JESS think I’ve pretty much got everything I need, I’m also staying over the night at the hotel so not looking forward to the journey home the next day. Got my V-pillow & back rest ready also x

Hi Lisa, I took a normal lucosade and loads of different snakes and stuff but didn’t have any of it. I asked the nurse after the op if I could have my lucosade but she said to avoid it for a few days but it was the fizzy one, not sure about the still one. I just drank loads of water, drank my tea and orange juice straight after the op.

Good luck chick, I was panicking that I wasn’t organised but I didn’t really need anything that I took expect my slippers, v pillows, obviously my bra and a tracksuit that had a zip up to go home in. I took an iPad and had my phone but didn’t really use any of it xxx

Basically, you can get the Lucozade sport or you can get normal Lucozade and shake it till it’s flat – that’s what I did 2 hrs before and I had absolutely no sickness after surgery 🙂

Hey I’m a nurse on a surgical ward and we always advise people to just drink water after their surgery just its alot easier to stomach after a GA as you can feel sick anyways. x

I’m just sticking with water to be on the safe side, got myself a flat orange Drench drink for after just incase.

Today is the day! Sat a Preston hospital now waiting x
