So I rung the nurse to say how much pain I was in from the strapping and she said it was too early to take it off. 4 days post op. But how come some people don’t have this strapping. What does it actually do if some people don’t have strapping??
I don’t have the strapping, I think it’s surgeons preference, it may help with recovery and making sure they don’t move about while the incisions are healing, not really sure though xx
My mum took mine off 4 days post op cause it felt too tight & uncomfortable… When I saw the nurse at 1 week post op she smiled & said lots of girls take it off before the week is up. (Saves her a job aswel lol ) x
i think it stops them from swelling up huge and helps to prevent stretch marks, mine was a killer but I left it and had it off till day 8 and I was so relieved, my incisions healed so well as well not sure whether the strapping helped but I really had little pain whatsoever x
I went shopping today wearing leather jacket and must of sweated so much under the strapping that it’s all completely falling off except on my nipples where it’s stuck down and not budging, got bleeding sores on my back where it was so tight and pulling, it’s such a relief x
My strapping ripped my skin too but I persevered untill day 7 – my pa said on day 5/6 they will swell more and prevents stretch marks so that have me enough reason to keep it on even though I wanted to rip off so bad x
The nurse told me to just loosen it a little at the top so I did that but yeah I won take it all of myself I would be too scared too. I’m dreading the nurse taking it off but then again I can’t wait
