Hiya! I had my op yesterday and am wondering if you all wore your sports/post opp bras over your strapping? I spoke to the nurse and she said most people do, but the doc said she wouldn’t recommend for a few days. I did attempt to put my Macom on in the hospital but it was just really hurt and scrunched the strapping up, so left off.

    Any advise would be great!

    Thanks

Hiya Hun, Hope everything went well for you yesterday.
I was a bit concerned about having my macom on over my strapping as it was so tight, I called the out of hours who said that I have to keep the bra on even over the top of the strapping.
I bought a standard sports bra which is a lot more comfortable maybe try one of those instead 🙂
    Happy healing xx

Its the post surgical bra that they advise you to purchase, cost me over £40 and to be fair its so uncomfortable!! If I had it done again I would just purchase your standard sports bras, and some that do up at the front rather than waste the money 🙂 xx

I bought primark sports bras 2:50 each ! Sounds cheap but they are so supportive and comfortable ! I also have marks and spencer zip up one and stil prefer the primark ones ! Happy healing xx

Thanks girls!! I do have some other options (primark 2 pack and zip up Marks and Sparks), but I borrowed the macom from a friend so thought that might be better atm as it’s stretched out. Will try one of the others and see how I get on, just a bit concerned though as it pulls at the strapping in the middle where it’s pushing together.

Oh really!? I had no idea we had to wear the MaComs/sports bras on top of the strapping!? I assumed they were for when we got the strapping off? I haven’t been wearing mine, but tbf my strapping is so tight I can’t even take a full breath! Lol do you think it’s going to affect the recovery at all? Xx
