Strapping so tight feel like I can't breathe :( coughing agonising pain!

My strapping is so so tight and I have a cough which i am trying to hold back because to cough is agonising with this strapping and only being a few days after surgery. I feel like the strapping is getting tighter tonight it’s so horrible and uncomfortable I am super jealous of all the girls who don’t have to wear strapping!!!!

I hope coughing isn’t going to damage my incisions or anything I am trying really hard not to cough but i keep feeling the phlegm in my chest and a need to cough (sorry gross I know) I was ill before surgery so ‘im guessing it’s the last bit of being ill. When i do cough it feels like my whole chest kind of ceases up or goes into a spasm and my strapping feels tighter!

My op is this Friday & I keep feeling like I’m coming down with a cold! I’m worried about the coughing too & how painful it will be if I go ahead. Would you advise post poning with your pain?

Hey Hun. I felt exactly the same and had a bit of a panic on day 2 because it was so tight, but just try and relax and think of the outcome and when it comes off, it is the best feeling ever. I know it’s not easy and mine felt so tight and round my ribs too, but it will get easier. Xx

Hi @goldielox I was sick in the week up to my surgery and was coughing etc. I was told that unless i had a temperature my surgery would go ahead.

I stopped coughing before surgery so im not sure if maybe the cough is something to do with the anesthesia instead maybe. I would talk to your nurse about it if you are worried and see what she says.

Its just so tight everywhere around my ribs, the sides, where my bra strap would be it’s so horrible!
