I met with a PC 4 weeks ago. I straight away put down £500 of my £1500 deposit to hold 8th June for my surgery date as this is the only week I will be able to get off work until Aug/Sept. The deposit is only refundable up until a week after meeting the surgeon and I met my surgeon last Saturday so today/tomorrow will be my last days to claim this back. As I am going through finance, they have calculated my monthly payments based on the £1500 deposit and are now asking for the last £1000. My problem is that when I met with the nurse yesterday for my pre op, I explained that about 5/6 years ago, my Doctor thought I was anaemic but she couldn’t be sure because I was so scared to have a blood test, so I was put on iron tablets and that’s the last that was ever said about it. When I had my blood test yesterday, I asked what would happen if it did come back that I was anaemic and she said that it could delay my surgery. I 100% cannot have this happen because I need June 8th, but I won’t find out my blood test results until Tuesday so my £500 deposit will be non-refundable by that time and I certainly do not want put down £1000 and lose the full £1500 if my surgery doesn’t go ahead.
Sorry for how long this is but I can’t get hold of my patient coordinator and only have 10 minutes left of my lunch break!!!
