I booked my surgery when I found the surgeon I wanted, (with a different company to Mya) I only booked him because 1. He said I could go under the muscle which i asked for because I wanted big but natural look and 2. He was giving me the size I wanted 450cc.
I went to see him for my final consultation before the operation and he’s now saying he won’t do under the muscle because I have plenty of tissue for overs and going under the muscle won’t make implants look anymore natural. I knew I had enough tissue but I have researched so much, I wanted under the muscle otherwise I wouldn’t of booked him! I I don’t want to have big round balls on my chest because I am naturally thin and there’s more chance of capsular con, as well as I don’t want sagging which it better prevented under the muscle. I just feel let down now and I want to ring my PC and tell her to tell him I want under the muscle or I’m not having it done, but I’m just worried about his attitude on the day I have to see him for surgery (he was really short with me on the day of my second consultation and it wasn’t nice) Does anyone have any advice?
Hi im really sorry to hear that hun. I have just had 450cc overs hp and they dont look fake at all if that helps you at all with your decision. If your realy not happy with overs thenI would def tell them as its your body and your money at the end of the day. Good luck x
It’s a difficult situation and I’m sorry you’re going through this.
I’ve said before on here that it’s a myth that overs look fake, so long as you have enough tissue and don’t go too big then you shouldn’t look fake just because you’re over the muscle.
As an aside, I have read the other way round that unders look and feel faker than overs due to the muscle being at the front.
I genuinely believe in both cases that if you tell your surgeon you want a natural look, then if they know what they are doing they will acheive that whether over or under. I do think you might be worrying too much, if your surgeon didn’t think you had enough tissue for a natural look, he wouldn’t insist, but I know that won’t be helpful to you or make you feel any better.
I work a lot with doctors and those that know what they’re doing have to also cover their own backs, if they think going over is the best option, I imagine they will keep with that. What if they go under with your instruction and you have complications/don’t get the results you want? They will have to justify going under and merely saying that’s what you wanted wouldn’t suffice in explanation – they need to be leading as much as possible because they’re the experts and Google isn’t.
It’s a bit of a pain that he’s changed his mind when you are already so far through the process. I would be annoyed at that. I do think you have to take the surgeons advice though. He must think that you will get a better result by going over the muscle otherwise he wouldn’t suggest it. If you do have enough breast tissue maybe he’s worried that going under the muscle wouldn’t fill the breast out enough? You should definitely speak to him about it again. Have him explain his reasons and speak to him about your doubts x
I went over the muscle I had 380 round from barely an A cup, they don’t look round or stuck on at all if anything they look more natural than I thought they would! There’s risk with any surgery wether it’s under or over the muscle. I had revision as my implants wernt in the pockets correctly and I asked to go under this time and my surgeon said no overs will give me the best result. I’m glad he did as I love them now! X
Definitely take your surgeons advise! I was going to have unders, instead my surgeon gave me subfascial which is overs but the benefits of unders and less risk of Capsular con. Mine don’t look fake at all and I’m super pleased. They know best x
