Surgeon seemed like he didn’t want to do it Started by: nicki810

Hi girls, last week I went to see Mr Mashhadi about new implants and an uplift and he really knocked my confidence. He said he would only do it if it was in two stages and could only have 300cc or lower. He wants me to get a second opinion from another surgeon and do more research and see others and then come back to him if I want to. He just seemed like he really wasn’t interested and was pushing for me to go elsewhere. Has anyone else experienced anything like this and can anyone recommend a surgeon who does an uplift and replacement in one stage. Thanks girls. Just feel really rubbish now. I’d paid my deposit and secured my date but now feel deflated x

    Hi Nicki
I have my surgery booked with Mr Mashhadi on the 7th June. He was exactly the same with me don’t worry. It’s not that he wasn’t interested. He just wants you to have a round of options before deciding the right one. I am having two stages (2 ops) with an expander. What did he actually say to you? I went to see another surgeon and now have the best confidence in Mr Mashhadi that he is doing the right thing.

Phew! That’s reassuring. Yeah he just gave lots of options but kept suggesting a second opinion. How do you feel about two ops? I just wanted it all done in one. It’s so much more expensive having two stages and I’m dreading the in between stage without implants x

He always wants someone to get a second opinion. He told me to get a third! haha This is just so you know all the options out there before deciding which surgeon to go with. They all do the procedure differently that’s why he wants you to see other surgeons first. I did want it all done in one operation at first but after doing some research into it all I feel more confident in this way is the best for me. I would rather do it gradually over time then too fast and risk the left breast sagging because I forced an implant too big into the skin. That’s why I am having two operations.

Can I ask why he wants you to have two ops?? What procedure did he suggest to you? x

Thanks so much for the info. I want to have a removal of old implant, a mastopexy and then a new but smaller implant. He said two stages will give better results and reduce sagging. Thank you, you’ve really helped me. I think two stages will be better and best not to rush and be impatient. I just didn’t want to pay twice but I guess it might reduce the chance of having another op sooner and these results should last longer. X

See I don’t have enough skin in my left so he said the best option for me was to do the two ops so the skin gradually stretches to reduce sagging. He specialises in breast reconstruction for cancer patients so he knows what would be best for you I feel. I have complete confidence in him. that was my problem I wanted it all in one op as I wanted them done but then I was risking it not looking its best! I would rather take it slow so they look the best they can be. It is a lot of money but it will be worth it in the end! x
