Hi all, just curious, have read a few comments now from girl’s saying they have been warned by surgeons not to use the zip up front high impact bras, would anybody mind telling me what reasons they gave for requesting you not to use one if any?
    Many thanks

Hi Claudine. My nurse didn’t give an exact reason she is said that my surgeon doesn’t like them as they could ruin all his work. So from that I presumed maybe as they seem to push the implants together, if they’ve not settled or healed properly yet then it could possibly have an impact on that? And then maybe effect the placement or shape? That’s what I’m guessing anyway.
But It’s weird how each surgeon has different opinions on it, so maybe whether you had unders or overs could have a role as well, I’m not sure xx

Personal preference by the surgeon. Same as some don’t want you to wear a bra but keep the strapping on. My surgeon didn’t like the bras that fasten around the back as during the healing process the last thing you need is to be trying to reach around your back to fasten it. I bought a zip up front no wired sports bra for £13. Worked well for me. I’ve just had my 6 week check up and the nurse can’t believe how well mine look at this stage. I had a BA and uplift so bad the nipple taken off.

My Sugoen didn’t tell me not Wear a zip up sports bra I bought the mya bra and went out and got a zip up one but didn’t like it felt like it pushed and squeezed my boobs together so can see why some sugoens don’t like them tbh as it felt like it was moving my implant in an not so natural place xxx

all done to surgeon’s preference. My nurse said there were more and more people wearing the m&s high impact post surgery sports bra and that it is a good bra for post op. Personally when I am wearing mine it doesn’t push the implants together, just supports like any of my other post op bras. I think the key is getting the right size, I went up a band size and made sure I got the cup size that was recommended.

I asked about this and mya said it was fine as long as it’s comfortable. I’ve always worn the m and s zip up bra and my boobs looked fantastic 🙂 I don’t feel like it pushes mine together either but I also got a band size bigger than what I would usually have x

Hi Claudine, my surgeon didn’t say it personally to me as I had the Mya bra at the time but I did hear she doesn’t like them because they can push them up and displace the implants… I didn’t find this but they pushed them together, I tried the band size up but that was too big round my shoulders and back so I got the next cup size up which fits better but I’m not going to risk it and stick to my Mya bras x

I don’t understand the pushing up thing, as I put my Macom on this morning and they push them up and give me a cleavage way more than my m&s ones do. I suspected they’ve never actually trialled them and therefore they have no proof either way. So therefore they’d rather say don’t use them. However I find them so much more comfy and my boobs feel like they sit more naturally in them. Xx

My surgeon said front fastening/zip ones were fine, and he in fact preferred these as they are easier to get on for his patients. My Macom which is specifically made for after breast Aug I feel squeezes them together more than my m&s high impact one…the m&s one is super comfy! For me anyway x

Macom definitely pushes them together and mine feel squashed, I have one in white and 1 in black yet my white one feels tighter around my boobs and doesn’t really cover me properly

Also find the sports bras really bulky and so hard to cover with tops because of the racerback and big zip at the front!!. they kinda swore are the boobs too rather than push them together xx

Thanks for your reply’s everybody 🙂
Just wanted some feedback as it’s not something ive seen getting discussed on the forum during my time on it, also because i did use an M&S zip up front and was reccomended it by a PC (after i tried the MYA and decided against it simply because i wanted front fastening)
I never felt like it did squash mine or push them together in fact if anything i felt more they were seperated by the flatness of the zip front structure, i never used a macom but from images on the forum they allways look more squashed in that, i know all the surgeons have their own preferences on everything but just a tad alarming when you do have one breast thats gone AWOL and then you read that some surgeons feel it can cause displacement, once again many thanks for your reply’s xxx

Hi girls well I find the bra am wearing super comfy and fits well. Am wearing the Macom 40XXL the biggest they have lol .. I bought a 38DD post surgery bra from M&S and it was so tight on me pre op so I was worried I didn’t want to make a mistake so I returned it and so I went with Macom as they don’t do cup sizes and it’s the most comfortable thing ever. Before I bought it I did call to explain I was having an uplift with implants and the 38 DD didn’t fit me on a post surgery bra pre op and they said for me to get the 40 XXL! I will say that it does hold your breasts in place I don’t feel squashed but they look much bigger when I take the bra off lol .

I’ve been wearing it all week. I got measured at m&s at week 1 as a 36DD but i tried on a 36D and it felt more fitting and I know they would get smaller when the swelling went down. Feels great to me and I defenitly feel supported in all the right ways
