Surgery Booked – Need advice from previous experiences!

Hi girls, I have my Closed Rhinoplasty booked with MR GONSCHOIR and am really concerned. I’m hoping you can reassure me!

My nose: Large, Pointy, Harsh and Narrow with a Small Hump. I am more conscious of the side profile but when I smile , the tip of my nose turns downwards. I HATE photos – from any angle!

Mr Gonschoir assured me that he could achieve the results I’ve been wanting for years. He will shave my bridge down, taking off the small hump and creating a more feminine ‘curve/scoop’. This I am fairly confident about. However, he explained that he will push my tip back so that it sits closer to my face – this truly sounds lovely 🙂 . I am really worried that as my cartilage feels super bouncy – my tip will still be too large! I want a small – extra small nose as my face and body is really petite. I’ve heard that a closed rhinoplasty isn’t as effective as an open one?

I really don’t want to be left with a nose that turns down even more when I smile – as I will have a scoop and still a protruding tip!

Do you think I’ll need to consider a open Rhinoplasty and ‘rotatation’ (making my tip higher) ?!

Hey Beth!

I would talk to him about your concerns and ask what the pros and cons of having closed vs open would be. I think it’s important not to strive for a ‘perfect’ nose as whatever that is isn’t really realistic. However I do remember having the same concerns as you prior to the op! It’s a difficult one but I guess a subtle change can make quite a big difference. (In reply to your Q yep I had closed with Gonschior). Add me and I will try to upload some photos 🙂 xx

i had open rino done as more can be achienced than having closed by Mr Stefan Gonschior in 2012 he done such a great job I love how he was stright to the point in not selling me my dream nose like alot of other places i went to he said your nose will not look exactly like a photo and that it will suite my face which is want you want really yoy like look at a photo and say you want that nose but it may not look right on your face. I was just so pleasesd with the results it does take a few weeks for you to be happy as there is swellen on the nose esp for me as I had open. i will be honiest i was not happy as soon as the cast came of as my tip it looked so big but I was assured it would go down, this was due to it being swellen then it all went down over time and im pleased 🙂 I wish you the vest let me know ig i can help with any questions.. i used this site before I had mine done years ago and everyone was super helpful

Christa – Thank you so much for your support, Its great to talk to someone who has had such a positive experience with MYA and Mr Gonschoir. So far my experience has been lovely, I obviously feel slightly nervous but definitely more excited!
