Hi, just a quick question for ladies who are paying off their surgery monthly on finance. Would my interest rate go down if I paid more one month, for example instead of paying £200, I’d pay £1000 instead ? My APR is 19.9 % which I find to be quite high to be honest so just wondering if theres anything I can do to reduce it. Thanks for any advice !

    Hi Hun

Why don’t you take a loan out for the amount required instead? X

I have looked into that but cant seem to find any loans with a low APR. Tried with my bank and it turned out if I took a loan with repayments for 2 years the APR would be 20% so pretty much the same as with MYA finance 🙁

Can’t you get a zero percent credit card? Or put it on a credit card and transfer to one with 0% on balance transfers? I went with a company that did 10 months finance of 0% which was perfect.

Hi, I us3d to work for a finance company and when you made larger payments it wouldn’t really change the Apr (as in it wouldnt be recalculated) it just means that you pay it off earlier and usually save yourself some interest. We used to offer two different solutions if you made lump payments which was to then lower your monthly repayment or you would keep the same payment but the loan would end sooner. Hope that helps

Hello lovely, I searched high and low for a loan with low APR. I ended up on the Money Supermarket and Admiral Loans had APR at 3.6%!!!! Maybe it’s worth having a look on them sort of sites? Xxx

Hiya 🙂 I was going to go for the finance option too but once I saw the apr and the repayment plans I decided to go for an interest free credit card. Got a Halifax 30 month interest free credit card which works out as £166 repayment a month. Found it through moneysupermarket web page 🙂 xx
