Surgery with a cold

Hi girls!
Has anyone had a cold a few days before surgery and allowed to go ahead? Yesterday I was sick but today I feel loads better, runny nose and a cough (not chesty though) so I know I don’t have a throat or chest infection, literally an itchy throat kind of cough!
Just wondered if anyone had their op or had it postponed?
Mines due Friday so still another couple of days to feel better. Iv come off orange juice as I think that’s what made me throw up yesterday lol!
Really hoping it can go ahead Friday! Reassurance will be appreciated! Xxx

Hi Lindsey I tried everything yesterday but ended up throwing up! Think I did too much lol! My cough is a bit chesty but hoping that clears up in a couple of days. I feel fine in myself and no fever. But I do sound ill because of my cold lol! Argh panic! I’ll just see what they say I guess! I’m worried about coughing while being under anthastetic? Or will I be so sedated from it that I won’t lol xx

I lost my voice the day before my surgery and throat was swollen and mine still went ahead they just made sure I didn’t have temperature and it went after surgery Cuz of the antibiotics so I’m sure you will be fine! I sounded like a bloke and kept coughing xx

Hi girls thanks for your well wishes! I’m feeling much more myself today just a bit snotty and a cough. Thankfully I’m not blocked up though and my cough isn’t constant! 🙂
Spoke to my pc and she said they would only postpone is I was blocked up and literally couldn’t breathe properly (thankfully my nose is clear just runny) and she said they would also postpone if I had a temperature which I don’t!
Couple more days on cold and flu tablets so I have high hopes of it going ahead! Fingers crossed ? xxxx
