How has everyone dealt with telli their Daddy’s? This is so hard for me, as my wonderful Mum passed away 5 years ago, and she knew how unhappy I was with my boobies! every time I fell pregnant she told my dad for me, and the last baby I had to tell him, which was so hard. I love my dad so much but he would of said talk to your mother! I know my mum would be concerned but she would understand and support me, I’ve been to her memorial place and talked to her and I know this may sound weird but everything so far has really just fallen into place, from money to dates to sizes! It’s like she’s with me X
Anyway I’m getting distracted, so back to my original question how do you tell your daddy? Xxx
i was very worried about telling my step-dad because he has always been very against me having plastic surgery or even things like a tattoo! I just told him that i had been to be the consultant and i was going to consider getting surgery because i was so unhappy and i felt as though it was affecting my life. He told me he was happy as long as i am happy:-) it was very awkward and i was very scared i’m not going to lie but how i see it they can either support you and make sure you are doing the right thing, or make you do it all on your own xxx
Thank you Bethany 🙂 nice to know not alone X my eldest daughter is called Bethanie ? X
Like yourself my mum has passed away but I decided not to tell my dad, just don’t feel it’s a conversation I need nor want to have to have with him. I’m coming 25 next week, so I’m an adult and it’s really my choice. Atleast when your telling him your pregnant it’s something he can look forward to, I just find talking about boobs to my dad would be horrendous and awkward ? But everybody’s different and I’m sure he’ll support your decision as it will make you happy xx
I couldn’t get my finance myself so I asked my Dad to take it out for me and I pretty much just sent him a really long text saying that I’m really unhappy with myself and want to get a cosmetic procedure so that I could be happy and stop hating me and stuff like that, but I didn’t actually say what I was getting. I just said I wanted surgery. He couldn’t get the finance out for me but me getting the surgery didn’t bother him or at least he’s not said anything about it. He’s just been asking how I am and stuff like that so at least he wasn’t angry xxx
Hi hun, I also lost my mum 3 years ago and I would have loved to have talked to her about it but obviously I couldn’t do that so I turned to my dad, it has turned into a regret tbh as we aren’t at good terms due to the op I’m having. I wish I’d have mentioned it after I’d already had the op but do what feels right with you x
I was worried too, but my dad has been more suportive than some of my friends he was fine about it and even offered if im stuck to come with me or stay with me after If I’m not managing xx
Sorry to hear that, it’s lovely to feel your mother is helping you through this I’m sure she is! I have a religious dad who does not agree with tattoos never mind surgery so I was petrified to tell him, my mum and step mum know about how upset I have been over the years with my boobs but I would never discuss this with him, when I told him it was when we were out for a meal and everyone was relaxed. I brought my boyfriend there for support and he looked very shocked and unhappy at first but now he seems to be supportive he hasn’t said much but i know he has calmed down about it and he just wants me to be happy ! I’m sure your dad will come around and he will want whatever makes you happy as parents that’s all they want in life x
Thank you so much ladies for replying, I’m so glad to not be going through this alone! I definitely can’t hide it from him, as we are going away all together 7 weeks post op! He’s on holiday and comes home tonight, so will have to tell him, I know he will worry as I think I’m his rock and I remind him of my mum so much X both my sister know and are so supportive it’s untrue, one of my brothers knows but he hasn’t said anything, and the other one I don’t see very much so I’m sure he will work it out lol X
Will let you know how he takes it! Maybe a phone call would be easier (coward moment), then avoid him for a few days lol X
@madmamato5 I also lost my mum 6 years ago. I inherited her small chest lol. My mum and dad split when I was young so me and dad are like best mates. He had an ex girlfriend who had a boob job. I emailed him and told him. We email and text a lot. I wasn’t going to tell him but I needed his help with my daughter post op and to drive me places. He hates my tattoos though but didn’t seem phased by the boobs.
I’m sure you’ll be fine telling him. Pick the right time. Maybe not tomorrow on fathers day lol. All dad/daughter relationships as different so I guess only you really know the best way to handle it xx
Thanks Sonia 🙂 it’s hard not having mums around when making these decisions! My dad doesn’t do emails or texts bless him, I have to deal with all that for him ? Totally forgot about Father’s Day today ooppss ? Will just have to see when is the best time x
Ok I did it, I told my daddy about my BA, to be honest my timing probably could of been better, as he is having surgery tomorrow himself! However I did it and he was totally ok about it. He made comment about how wonderful my mums breasts were and how I basically got the short end of the deal. He said he saw a few women on holiday who obviously we’re too top heavy (his way of saying don’t go too big)! Will cross the bridge of 560cc further down the line ? X I wanted to thank you all for all your comments and support its made this a lot easier and now 33 days, till the op I’ve been waiting for 20 years for x
