Hi ladies,
My finance came through today with tesco so easy money went straight in my account, scary seeing it there though.
Question how did everyone do the mum talk. I sent my mum a letter a few months back telling her I’m doing it and would love her support at first she was like okay. But now she’s saying she doesn’t support it. Is it just me or has anyone else’s mum been like this? I want her support even though I’m doing it anyway??
Hi Penelope
I have my op on the 27th of March.
I told my mum and she said she doesn’t want me to have it done, she just doesn’t understand why I’m wanting to do something like this… But I’ve gone through with it, and she hasn’t spoken to me much about it and she isn’t going to be there on the day but Iv just got on with it and I no she will always be there if anything went wrong
Hi Penelope
I’m 33 and dreading telling my mum, I have wanted this done sine I was 18, in my early 20s I went for a consultation but didn’t go ahead because of what family would say. You have to do what’s right for you, your mum is going to worry, she’s your mum, you would be the same with your child. Might be worth asking her to go to a consultation with you and she can hear it first hand and have her questions answered. She will support you when she knows it us happening, I’m sure, she may just be hoping you change your mind. Hope this helps! Good Luck! X
hey girls,
my mum is the same she said last year that she would support me as I was meant to get them done then but cancelled due to her scaring me saying i’m going to die lol its not funny but mums shouldn’t say things like that at all .so now im going through the process again to get them done soon hopefully but shes still on my case which is upsetting as you don’t want to see your mum upset or disappointed ,but I suppose just do what you feel is right ,at the end of the day its your body.
I told my mum i was getting it done and shes wasnt unhappy or happy she kinda jist changed the subject i say if ya mum dont agree now she will see why u did it once u have all healed and she sees thw change in youself and how much happier you are x
Thanks girls! My mum send me a letter telling me she won’t support me and that it’s stupid . I paid with a loan so I pay 115£ back a month so I don’t see the issue but mum being mum kicked off. It’s something I’m all booked in June 7th eeeekkk xxx
Well good luck, you have to do what’s right for you! X
I’m from a strict Arab family and surgery is a big NO NO! However I told my mum if she didn’t allow me to do the surgery she would never see me with a man :p lol after I said that she agreed she helped me supported me and took care of me after surgery and I was surprised because my family is very traditional haha.. So I guess just be honest with your mum and give her the sweet talk and explain to her why you are doing it and I’m sure it will be fine good luck x
