The Pill

Did anyone continue to take their pill whilst having surgery?
You are advised not too because of DVt but has anyone had experience on this?

Girlies who are post -op … did you carry on taking the contraceptive pill as normal or did you stop for the op? x

I need to know this too! I don’t want to mess up my pill routine as been the same routine for 7years plus!

At my pre op nurse told me you can’t take pill for 2 weeks before surgery. X

Does anyone know about the depo injection if that’s ok to be on?

Hi ladies I have continued to take my pill throughout & I am now 3 days post op. Nothing was mentioned to me in my pre op about stopping taking it. I did question it to the nurse once I read it on here. She checked with my surgeon, Marion Grob & was told it was no problem. Obviously I understand that the effectiveness is compromised as I am on anti biotics. X

I got told to stop taking it one week before surgery then to take it one week after. So long as your pc/surgeon says its ok for you to stay on it there shouldn’t be a problem x

I was advised to stop it 2 weeks before and after my op.

Because my op was booked quite quick I only stopped one week before but you’re defo best to coz of the dvt x

I was told to stop 3 weeks before surgery and to start taking it again on the 1st day of my period after surgery xxx
