Anyone know why they tell us to sleep sitting upright? I have been doing it but just wondered why xx

It’s to stop the pocket becoming stretched and causing displacement before the pocket fully heals. Also ladies with unders will find it extremely painful to get up from a laying position. x

How high is upright? Im sleeping in a reclined position with 3 pillows stacked behind me so its not totally flat is that still considered upright? X

Oh god! I’ve been sleeping near flat!! I thought it was a comfort thing… No one told me that was the reason I’m 6 days post op!!! Seeing my nurse tomorrow!! Xxx

Grace I’m sure you’ll be fine, I only slept half upright for the first couple of nights and then flat, it’s so hard to get comfy isn’t it! I’m still struggling now and I’m 12 days post op. Managing to sleep on side though now which is such a relief so something to look forward to for all you girls in early stages 🙂 xx

I’m good pain wise too! Just uncomfortable! Like feel like I’m hunching my shoulders a lot and can only walk very slowly! Also I’m incredibly bloated! I feel pregnant to be honest haha! Can’t wait for strapping to come off I’m so anxious not knowing what’s under there!!! Xxx

Yeah so supirsed how well I’ve felt considering its quite a big op, mine feel heavy! But no pain at all just shooting pains occasionally, I’m so scared to see them without the strapping I hope I love them! It’s weird cause i can’t feel my left nipple it’s completely numb? Xxxx

It’s also to help lessen the swelling, they generally advise sleeping upright for at least the first week, then just do whats comfy. I was super sore with unders last time and slept upright for almost a month lol! I don’t find it uncomfy at all with the v pillow x

Yeah considering it is a major op, I’ve just been uncomfortable at worst, there isn’t a lot of pain, my worst day was when the antibiotics were making me sick and I was still unable to pull myself out of bed quickly so had to sit with a bucket untill my mum was able to come up and help me up! So has been a nice easy recovery! Can’t wait to get back to the gym feel well fat!! Haha good luck for tomorrow’s unveiling! Can’t wait!! Xxx

I had the same problem since I had the op. My back and bum hurts so that’s why I wake up frequently to change my position. I sleep upright and end up laying flat on my back which didn’t help at all. My boobs felt heavy and tight! Lol!
