Think I’ve got a stitch poking out? 4 weeks po

Hiya,

Just taken a photo of my incisions and noticed what looks like a piece of plastic wire sticking out about a cm away from the scar. It’s definitely not a hair or anything haha, does anyone know if this is normal? Think I’m gonna phone to clinic tomorrow xx

Yeah I had something like this with my first surgery I just pulled it out

Really?? Were you not worried doing that? I’m dead squeamish even looking at my scars haha

I had this too (non-dissolvable stitches) was soo sore rubbing on everything, at my 6 weeks post op appointment the nurse cut it down as low as she could and I completely forgot about it till reading this so skin must of grown over it soon after x

I had one don’t pull it that’s the worst thing you can do it could unravel the stitches leave it , it will fall off like a scab mine did xxx

Mine where disovable so in my mind it shouldn’t have still been there I used eyebrow tweezers it come out so easy I mentioned it to the surgeon at 6 week check up he said well done that’s all we would have done anyway .. it wasn’t attached to anything I guess the rest has dissolved inside the body
