I met with the nurse today for my pre op and she advised me to have 2 weeks off from work but does anyone know if you can get a doctors note to sign you off from work or would I have to take it as holiday? Getting worried now as I have no holiday left to take 🙁 xx

I was just about to post the very same thing…… I’m waiting to start a new job and my ops booked for 5th September so I don’t wanna take holiday at my current job as they’ll only take it back off me when I leave as I haven’t accrued enough hours. I think your GP can give you a sick note cuz it’s a health risk letting you carry on working straight after surgery. The only thing with a sick note is having to keep quiet about cosmetic surgery as I don’t think many employers would like knowing that’s why you took time off, but I know I won’t be able to keep quiet so I really don’t know what to do :/ I have read things from previous posts that your surgeon may be able to give you a sick note aswell but I’m not 100% x

I spoke to my employer about it,
And he said I could have the 2 weeks off as
Sick leave/ sick pay or as my annual leave.
So you must be able to have it off as sick.
Maybe get a note from doctors?
    Hope this helps
My BA booked for the 22nd august

Ahh thank you 🙂 that’s good to know, atleast if they won’t give me unpaid leave I can throw a sick note at them x
