Time off work refused

Hi ladies,

My ‘7th’ day post op I’m meant to be working but my leave request has been refused! I work at the airport on a temp summer contract (hoping to go perm in oct). It’s quite an a five job and you’re generally on the move all day (however I could ask to be kept on check in so I’m not moving). So my question is, do I push it for the day off and tell them why or do I go in on my 7th day? It’s an 7.5hr shift.

Call in sick? Xxx

I could, however they are VERY strict of sickness. We get a £50 bonus a month just for having no sick leave or lates! If I call in sick, this goes on my file and at the end of my contract will most definitely go against me being made permanent. Especially as its such a gossipy place they’ll know why I’m not in.

I’m going to try and get a shift swap but if I can’t then I’m just wondering if I would actually be able to go in on the 7th day?
