Today was the day!

I had my op today and thought I’d share my experience for anyone that is feeling nervous or anxious!

My admission time was 8am and I went to theatre at 9.10. Everyone was so lovely and really put me at ease. My surgeon was Dr Mounir and he is just so calming, when he left my nerves had gone and I was just really excited!

I walked to theatre and the anaesthetists were great, the worst bit was the cannula going into my hand, they say you’ll feel a small scratch….rubbish! ???? Anyway they kept me talking to take my mind of it. The next thing I hear is them saying it’s all over.

I had 375 overs and the pain (so far) is really bearable. The side effects from the anaesthetic aren’t great but soon wear off. After lots of obvs, tea and toast I was able to go home at 2pm.

I’ve had such a great experience and for anyone feeling nervous I hope this helps put your mind at ease!!

They look fab Rebecca! I’m so glad you wrote this, I’ve got my appointment with the same surgeon on 9th Feb! & hopefully the go ahead march ???? I’m so scared, nervous but excited all at the same time! Its the getting put to sleep I’m worried about but think you have kinda put my mind at ease a little bit ???? X

@chloe I feel fine. When I’m at a 45 degree angle in bed there is hardly any pain. When I’m stood up it’s just a kind of ache and they just feel heavy (I think that’s coz I’m not used to having any boobs ????). But if the pain feel like this then I will be happy.

@lisa Dr Mounir is fab!! And I promise the GA is nothing like you would expect. They were so good at putting me at ease and then in less than 10 seconds I was out. Already it’s the best thing I’ve done and I wish I’d done it years ago! Hope it all goes well for you

Brilliant just what I need to hear about Dr Mounir, I’ve read loads of great feed backs from him & now yours thanks lovely & hope you recover pretty quickly x
