v pillow!!! I found mine so helpful in the hospital and on the way home, makes things wayyyy more comfy. take an iPad on your laptop to keep us updated of course. You don’t really need much else, comfy pyjamas to change into for the journey home. Just enjoy the experience, it’s amazing 🙂 xxxxx
Don’t be scared… the most daunting thing is walking down to theatre – they are so good though. The anesthetic feels weird and you feel yourself nodding off to sleep but it’s fine. They give you pain killers when you wake up and tea and toast back in your room, then normally they give you ice (well I had it) to help the swelling 🙂 it’s such a weird but amazing experience so just enjoy it as much as you can. The drains – you don’t even feel them so don’t worry if you are having them xxxxxx
I wish I hadn’t packed so much rather then wished I did! Take yourself, phone charger ( but for me wasn’t important) and v pillow for journey back home, and if your staying overnight then oviously change of clothes. For next day and tooth paste and brush makeup if you really want to. Not much is needed at all
Admission time is like signing in basically so you could have the op from anythin to hour to even 4 hours sometimes depending on patients who have complications in theatre or a more intense surgery it can take longer
