Getting to London and getting back!! gosh it a journey and a half.
neither me or my partner wants to drive down to London for the surgery (clearly i cant drive back) so we have decided to get the mega bus down for like £10 and we are thinking of getting it back up too! has anyone else gone down via this public transport?
when is the latest people have come out the their surgery and left the hospital the last bus back up to where I live is at 6pm on the day of my surgery, I’m worried that I might still be in hospital and not have time to get to the bus stop to get the coach back up!
help!
I got out of my surgery at around 5pm. My admission time was 11am. However, my surgery was at Manchester.
How long is your drive? Make sure you take some comfy pillows for the journey because the car journey back was the worst for me!
**modified them because I kept mixing am and pm :’)
Back on antibiotics, so I’ll blame it on that haha
Heya traveling into London is a massive pain by car isn’t it just to make you aware I think that if you get public transport after the op then your insurance will be invalid. I may be wrong but I’m pretty sure I read that somewhere. X
Kirsty is right. I really wouldn’t get a coach back.
I got parking 2 mins walk away for £22 for the night and found a small apartment in Fitzroy Square on Air bnb cheaper than any hotel nearby. Booked it for two nights so my 7am start won’t mean leaving home at 4.30am, and booked for the day of my op too so my hubby can stay over & pick me up next morning.
You’ve spent so much money on this, what’s another couple of hundred pounds to ensure your comfort and ensure post op you are doing everything properly.
Cx
I’d agree with Cliona, the surgeon could run late meaning you’d miss your transport or what if your sick after the anaesthetic? I’d book a hotel x
My admission time was 7am on 11.05.17 and I wasn’t released until 20:45!!! It was a crazy long day. Luckily my partner pre booked parking online in a secure car park and then was allowed to move the car to right outside the surgery in Fitzroy after 18:30 as the congestion charge finishes 🙂 I would not recommend public transport as the journey home was awful x
is it really invalid if you get public transport?! okay guys thank you will have a word with my partner tonight! may have to rethink our situation, he will just have to drive down haha. we are booking a hotel for two nights so will have time to relax after the surgery before I have to think about coming home x what types of apin relief were you guys given as outpatients? x
Hi Ellie my PC said def don’t go public transport to travel home , I have a feeling it’s on paperwork aswell but I might be wrong , good luck x
