After reading a question on the forum I thought I’d review the Macom bra vs the Post Surgery Bra- hope this helps girls!!
I’m 7 days post op with lots of strapping around 380cc HP overs – I can’t see the tops or bottoms of my boobs which is pretty unattractive to start with!
I bought the Macom Bra from Macom Medical website (£35 inc. p&p and discount!)and it arrived promptly ready for surgery day. After surgery I’d hoped that it would be much tighter, but its still quite loose around the back though nice and snug on the boobs. It fastens at the front making it easier to get into, but a zip rather than lots of hook and eyes would be better. The material is thinner around the nipple area and in some tops you can see big swollen nips pointing through like torpedos….
Today I was extremly fed up of wearing the same bra, taking it off only to wash it, so I headed for Matalan as there is no Asda close by to buy their popular post-surgery bra. This Post-surgery bra is very similar and at £6, a bargain. I feel so much more atractive wearing it despite the strapping! I even WANTED to send a cheeky pic to my man It’s nice to be able to see your cleavage after a week of confinement in a Macom bra!! It is quite tight around my scars though and I cant imagine wearing it longer than 1/2 a day as its not very stretchy and my back began to ache after about 8 hours (though this has happened on days where I’ve been wearing my Macom too).
Verdict:
I’m glad I bought both!! I think my Macom bra will now mainly be used at night and when wearing a patterned top (or scarf) and I’ll wear the post-surgery bra when I wear a lower top or when I’m socialising.
I think spending £35 on a bra is quite a lot of money, but as long as you get the right size its a drop in the ocean compared to the cost of your new boobs.
Let me know what you think girls xxx
I think as time goes by, you will like the macom more. esp when your at home. I have 3 bras, asda/tesco/macom. I hated the macom to start, was so tight. But now 3 weeks down the line, i prefere it. I like the asda one when i go out as it makes the boobies look bigger..But at home i live in the macom. The macom also i think shapes them better, when i take it off, i love the shape of my boobs, compared to when i take the asda one off. Hope this also help girls. xx
Tip for macom bras…go to tesco and get their slim nursing pads, fit in bra lovely and you cant see torpedo nipples through them! x
I love my macom bra!
I’m a 34A now and getting 380cc overs to get to a D cup! Should I buy a 34D? A 36D? Or even an E incase?? I’m want to make sure it fits properly if I’m going to spend £35 on a bra! :S x x
I was talking with someone yesterday about which size to get. With the malcolms, you only need to go by back size, and not cup size, and although some have said to get a bigger back size for swelling, I think it’s better to go with your normal back size as the swelling probably won’t affect it too much. x
I got a 32 as I used to wear a 32B. The 32 Macom bra is too loose on the back. I was also told I’m not a B but more like a large A.
So I was originally wearing the wrong bras. Seeing as you have a few weeks to go brunettexbarbie maybe it would be best to get measured to check your back size?? A Macom stretches loads on the cup size so you only have to opt for the back size as belle says xx

Hey hun, would it be possible for you to send me the link to the matalan post surgery bra? ive just been looking on the matalan site for them but dont have a clue which the on is you were telling us about? would love to invest in one for this friday as im going to a BBQ and my macom bra you can always see sticking out above my tops! lol xxx
Im a 34 back and accidentally bought the size small for the macom bra but it fits perfectly it supports them so well, but it makes them look smaller lol ive got the asda post op bra it it is much nicer looking but not as supportive and it rests on my scars. As ugly as the macom bras are they win hands down for me.
Well I bought my Macom bra and it’s now too small on the back and it’s sooo uncomfortable too. I have searched so many shops and I can’t find one that will fit me. I had big problems in asda as I was told they no longer stock the post surgery bra and the only size they had was a 32B (which I was before) or a 34 F so at 1am I took this home only to find it was like a hammock! So I will be taking this back and continue my search for the perfect post op bra! I would of gone up 1 size on the back in the macom bra had I known this
