    Hi ladies

I’ve got my consultation with Mr Mounir next Tuesday. I’ve got diastasis recti with a 4 finger gap after having 2 kids so I’m looking into having a tummy tuck and also maybe going up a few cup sizes too . Has anyone ever had both and what was the recovery like? Also what is the criteria for needing an uplift? I’m seeing in the forums a lot of ladies going for BA and being told they need an uplift too?

    Thanks for any info

There’s is another lady on here who had a tummy tuck and ba at the same time but I think the recovery wasn’t that easy?

Im still recovering now. I will be 6wks post op this next Wed.

I had a tummy tuck and uplift with MR Singh on 19th Feb.
Im healing well with no complications and love my new body but I cant stand straight or get up out of bed without help. I cant bend down and struggle to shave my legs.. which ive only been able to do for this past week.

Thanks for replying. So realistically I’m going to need help with the kids for a fair few weeks then? My hubby can take two weeks off but after then I’ll have to rely on family members to drop in and help me each day. I best start cashing in some favours! Xx

I remember when I was 3wks post op and there was so much I couldn’t do. Im a lot better now though.

I managed to get up from a sitting position today.. what you have to be careful with at 2wks post op is that you can get out of bed on your own.. if no one is with you… you will pee yourself. I got my hubby to attach a thick rope to the bottom bed post and I slept with it between my legs so I could get up with that if needed.

I don’t think I could of coped with a TT uplift and implants altogether. My ribs hurt really bad afterwards and my boobs swelled and it was very painful. My macom bra had me in tears because of my rib pain from the tummy tuck. I couldn’t take deep breaths and I couldn’t talk lots or loudly. I couldn’t shout my hubby in an emergency. I couldn’t blow my nose, Sniff up, laugh at all. I couldn’t even cry for the first two weeks. Coughing and sneezing was a no no and I would pace around the bedroom trying not to cough all bent over as I couldn’t stand straight… its all coming back now though.
I still cant stand straight.. but then everyone is different and I know someone that was standing straight at two weeks.. I’m 6wks post op on Wed and i’m hunched over so I cant go out shopping as I look stupid and standing for long periods gives me crippling backache.

you will also need someone to watch you when you first take a shower.
I was 3wks post op and it was my second shower and I fainted. . A full on proper… fall to the ground faint. Luckily I told hubby and he got me out of shower and I fainted in his arms.. but I was wet and slipped through his arms

Its a tough recovery and a slow recovery but I just love my new body. Im so happy I did it and looking back… 6wks has flown by.. My nurse says I can stop wearing my binder and sports bra at 6wks and I went on my exercise bike yesterday. I did 3 whole miles. . Lol before the op I was doing over 100 miles a week.

every day I see an improvement now. Don’t let what I’ve said put you off. Its an experience and im happy I made the choice. Its done and dusted and I never have to do it again. My tummy looks gtrst and my boobs are perky again.

add me ad a friend to see my pics

I’ll be honest, this is scaring me! I’ve got two little ones – a 3 year old and a 15 month old and my hubby can only get a max of 2 weeks off work so I’m hoping my recovery will be a bit quicker than yours because well it kinda has to be! Eek! I’m so sorry you are still feeling so naff but it sounds like you are getting there slowly but surely.

The TT is definitely something I’m thinking long and hard about. It isn’t for cosmetic reasons, it is due to the constant stomach and back pain I have from my abs separating during pregnancy. I’d say my daily pain is probably around a 5-6 so it’s live withable but always there gnawing at me.

Thank you for your advice, I will add you if that’s ok. Xx

I had a TT because I had muscle separation from childbirth. I had a dip in the middle of my tummy which I hated. I think I had separation from right under my boobs.

I am a wuss and suffer from anxiety lol but I wouldn’t say you would be OK at 2 wks post op. I haven’t needed to work and don’t have young children so I haven’t needed to rush my body into doing things plus I have had my hubby here throughout (we are both self employed and work together)
I would say about 4 wks you would feel lots better. . But everyone’s different.

    How old are you?

I’m 30. I’ve got seperation right from under my boobs too, rib pain and back pain most days with it, belly button sticks out now too. My abs separated with my little girl but I managed to get them back together but after my son there was no chance! I’ve had physio and tried numerous exercise programmes and I’ll get back down to about 2 fingers gap and it’ll open up again. I also suffer from anxiety (generalised anxiety disorder, panic attacks etc) and mentioned this to my PC and she said if I went ahead with surgery she would try to make sure I was first on the list the day of surgery because if I have time to sit there and panic I’ll do a runner lol.

This is all good to know because I can start planning for help with the kids, nursery drop offs, batch freeze loads of meals etc for when hubby has to get back to work. It would have been a shock otherwise because you are told you can more or less start getting back to normal after two weeks.

Maybe it depends on your job and whether you have to get back to work… i didn’t. At two weeks I did get downstairs to go on pc to send some contracts. Hubby had to go out on a site visit and left me on the pc for an hour. When he came back I got up from chair (if you are sitting upright you can get up.. if you are even slightly leaning back you cant) I didn’t notice but hubby said I was bent double like id just had op.. so I don’t think jobs where you are sitting down all day are any good.

I definitely wouldn’t of been able to pick a child up at two wks post op. I couldn’t even puff my bed pillow up at 2 wks. I just couldn’t lift it

You are younger than me though. Im 46.

Maybe you could ask a friend to come and sit with you when kiddies are home? Just till hubby comes back from work.

Yeah I think that’s a plan. I’m a stay at home mum so I don’t have to worry about getting back to work, just getting back to looking after the little ones. I’m gonna start working on a babysitting rota – not for the kids but for me lol. Ooh this is getting more scary now!
