Hi lady’s I’m 31 and after 2 children 1 large 1 at 10lb14 I have been left with this horrendous stomach I had an NHS scan wich confirmed My muscles have split 4.5 cm from top to bottom, when I’m lay down my tummy sinks right in and when I’m stood I look 5 months gone it causes me horrendous back pain it depresses me so much as at 31 and only slim I shouldn’t feel this way, even though I’m scared I have bit the bullet and I have a consultation today for tummy tuck I know I will need a full 1 because of the split and my belly button is a mess! I was just wondering has anybody had it done with young children and how did they cope? My son is 7 so he won’t be a problem but my daughter is 12 months would you recomend waiting or was you fine with the recovery, thank you xx
Well you will definitely need a muscle repair, which they can do with a mini tuck. But if you say the belly button is not right then he might re-position that too.
Your eldest doesn’t need much picking up but the little one. It depends if you have your husband/partner/parents able to help you? You can’t pick her up, you won’t be able to walk straight for about 1-2 weeks. You can’t even cough or sneeze without pain. My youngest was already 4, and my husband was with me 24/7 with me for 2 weeks. You can do it but not alone. That’s for sure. But despite all pain it will be worth it. For the first time in YEARS I was comfortable in a bikini this summer. So much so that I’m now wearing them at my local swimming pool. Tummy uncovered 🙂 I did it a year ago.
Aw thank you for your reply I had a good consultation and I was told I will need a new belly button and a full tuck she said I won’t need lipo so that’s good, I have had 2 c sections 1 was bad my old scar ruptured so had a lot of stitches she said it’s similar to that but the pain will be a bit worse I have my partner and my mother in law lives across the road so she will help me a lot, I think talking to her has madee more determined and like you say it’s changed your life and I want to be able to feel confident like you do now x
Best of luck then:) keep in touch, let me know how it goes and if you need any advice I’m happy to help out. Xx
Hi Stacy
I had a full tummy tuck and vaser lipo to the flanks 4 weeks ago. I have a 3.5 year old daughter. My husband looked after her for the first week, my mother for the second week and I had her with me at home the third week. I found week three a massive struggle. I still need help with a lot of things as I must not lift heavy objects or stretch to reach things. You will be fine with your little ones as long as you have adequate help in place. It is a huge operation and can take up to a year to fully recover. Don’t let that put you off though…I am really pleased with my results so far and have no regrets xx
Thank you ladies, that is what is worrying me Nina I had a section and it opened twice through doing to much so I’m thinking maybe I should put it off just another year till she is that little bit older but I so want it done desperately I’m 100 percent going through with it but I’m going to wait till after Xmas and decide if I should leave it till my daughter is that little bit older xx
Hi, I’ve just had a full tummy tuck ( muscle repair and lipo to hips) and I have 3 children 13, & 9 months. My fiancé took a week off work to look after me then went back to work exactly a week after my op. I’m not going to lie I was scared of how i would cope but it wasn’t as bad as I thought, I figured out easier ways to do things and I’m now nearly 2 weeks post op and feeling fantastic and coping perfectly fine. I’m loving the results and so happy I finally plucked up the courage to do it, bring on summer holidays!!! X
