Two post ops appointments?

Hi girls, I went for my post op with the nurse today as it has been one week since my surgery. She changed the dressings etc and went through all the post op stuff with me but then said I have to go back next week for a second post op? I thought you just had to go one week after then 6 weeks then 12. If it’s literally just to take the dressings off I’ll get my friend to do it who’s a nurse cos I live an hour away from Manchester and it seems a bit of a waste of time. Xx

I had a 1 week appointment and then a 2 week, my next is my 6 weeks! X

Yeah I had a 1 week where she changed my dressings and had my second week appt today. She took my dressings off and gave me the Okay to shower. I’m a nurse and could of done what she done to be honest lol. It was more cause I wanted the OK to shower. She did feel my boobs though, kind of examined them, guess it was to check for haematoma as. You then had a 6 week post op nurse appt and then a 12 week post op appt with your surgeon. X

Dont miss appointments, these post op checks are crucial, the nurses are not breast implant experts by any measure thats the surgeons rank but the MYA nurses are trained to asses the breasts it’s not just the incisions there looking at so i would deffo go they are the link between you and your surgeon,, an hour is a pain but totaly worth it considering the money and recovery effort you put into the BA xxx

i had my 1 week post op today aswell and have my 2nd booked in but none more after that, will probably arrange that in the next check up.
I know what you mean, I’m an hour from London and trying to get off peak train tickets all the time for them as they aren’t cheap but its probs best xx

Had my dressing off when I went for my first week post op. Then the second one this Friday to get rid the blue stitches???? I actually can’t wait for my appointment cos I have lots to ask lol.

I had 2 appointments as well, the first one she changed my dressings and cleaned it up a bit then at my 2 week one she removed all dressings and gave me the ok to shower, I’d definetly go as I was told that if you miss any appointments it makes your warranty invalid so if anything went wrong in the future they could technically get away with not covering it as you’d of missed post op appointments. It is a huge ball ache though for the sake of a 10 min appointment takes me over an hour on train to xx
